I can stop thinking 'baut how happy Sybil must had been if she found out how close Mary and Tom became. That Tom was accepted and loved by her family, espacially her sister, who she was so close too and that Mary found someone who can see behind her cold, distanced facade would have meant so much too her.

C loses a sister..... gains a brother!!!

I like these two together they make each other better people. I don't know if it is a popular choice but they do. They support each other. Understand each other and accept their follies. That is a good basis for a long-term relationship. What has never been explored is whether they are attaracted to each other. We shall see what the new season brings.

I totally think these to need each other to get along. After what happened, I just feel like they can make each other happy.

Really loved the pure relation of these two... I did not like her very much but she became a better person and found true friendship in Tom, more than that he was her brother... really gorgeous. Great siblings :)))))

Yes, Sadly I've been on the whole MaryxTom Ship, true. I was it's first oarsman. LOL! But, I'm glad the series ended the way it did. It would have been very out of character for them to get together if we're being realistic and if there is one thing I admire about Julian Fellowes is that he has such 3D characters on this show and keeps them very true to themselves--he doesn't force things. And, as much as some of us might want it, Mary and Tom together would have been a little forced. But, I tell you, just the small moments they had this season were enough to sustain me and my fantasies. Every time he touched her arm or they had and emotional scene together, I died. The best part about Mary and Tom, I will say is that their chemistry grew over time--they were definitely at odds at first, then they became family, then good friends. When Mary was distraught or upset, he knew her enough to know why and comforted her and when she was being a snob, he knew how to put her in her place and make her think, "oh..whoa...I guess I am."

Elliebet Not just Mary - Tom was equally as supportive to Edith. Helped bring out their better nature's and helped them to become independent women in a time when women had very few freedoms. They way Julian Fellows wrote made it all very believable. Only a few points that the series fell down on was the etiquette at times. Talking across the table and leaning on it....not done. Plus the nursery would have consisted of a room for the Nanny and the children would sleep in the same room as the Nursery Maid. There would also be a little sitting room for their use and the children would take their meals there. A large playroom full of toys too. A whole suite of rooms not just one small bedroom. As they got older each child would have their own bedroom in the same wing as the nursery. It's a shame that we didn't get to see more of High Clere Castle. It's huge. But gotta love Downton.

+jensmom604 I know, I'm watching the season 6. It's a big shit, I must say. The plot was awful and Henry and Mary have no chemistry. A terrible end to a wonderful serie... a pity. Fellowes make a mess of it and I'm so sorry and angry :/

@RobMacRay The glances and all the interaction between them left most fans very confused during seasons 5 and 6. I have no doubt of that... those villain :/ they made me suffer, half anxiety half hope

Fine until we got to the music - it makes the pictures meaningless.

I hate that you have awful song over the dialogue of Downton Abbey . Please let us hear the dialogue of the series.
