Yes, always relax the physical upper chest. Never raise it.

Speaking now of baritones..bonelli, stracciari,protti.., tagliabue, Schlusness (sp?), capuccilli,...these generally were not huge men with huge voices but their voices had great squillo and carrying power....so much created with teaching method (naturally good voice too ).Now they sign differently and get big men with naturally big voices...since many have no proper squillo..and sing overly covered. (I didn't mention Mac and Warren..since they were freaks of nature
