I had the absolute pleasure of casting Tom Kenny in my pilot a few years back. He came to the studio and worked out the voice of his character on the spot. It was so amazing watching him try different things. I didn't feel worthy when I had to direct him. The man was so kind and professional.

The moment i heard it I was like wow That's a cool Pixar plot of how emotional movies are dying out and only blockbusters are being made and then some quirky screenwriter tries his best to get his sad romantic movie made, and it has the classic Pixar sad moments cause of how everyone is no longer in touch with their emotions until his movie finally does, E. THAT'S why it's easier to DO a voice than CAST one, in my opinion. You hear SO many talented people, but in the end you can only cast ONE. If they ALL stink, I'll end up doing the voice, myself. lol (only happened a couple of times) As SB would say, "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!" ;)

The fact that he was both really surprised me too. He is one of the modern voice actors that can really portray a wide variety of characters in his mannerisms and voice. Makes me want to be a voice actor even more, knowing that having that ability makes you so much better than most of the people working in the industry. Tom Keeny rocks, is what I'm saying.

I love how articulate Tom Kenny is, he is able to express precisely what he is thinking when he approaches a new character and how to embody their personality. Seems like it takes a very empathetic person to be able to do that because you have to know what if feels like and sounds like to live in another personality’s body

Hillenberg died in 2018 after fighting ALS for a while. We all get sad, thinking about it. What a legacy he created, though! ;)

LOL gotta start SOMEWHERE! I started with his SECOND voice, and played around not even going pirate. I even tried an evil Al PACINO which was REALLY fun. ;) Then, tried an evil Doc Brown. He still sound mixed, but workable!

Underrated character imo

Used to be a doorman at a hotel that Mr.Kenny frequented with his family. Mr.Kenny is one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met, and he never let his fame get to his head. The dude was super genuine and used to talk to the hotel staff in one of his voices to throw us off. Happy to see him having fun with this.

*_As a cartoonist myself, I really wanted to hire this guy. He is such a national treasure._*
