I love the difficult simplicity of Jobim's creative melodic talent as well as the difficult artistry & virtuosity of Oscar Peterson. I miss them both😢

Mr. Jobim is so gracious with his comments. That is why I love jazz musicians they have so much respect for one another's artistic ability. I love Oscar's version with the orchestra creating almost a wave feeling. However, if Mr. Jobim had not written the song there would have been no Oscar on this one!

I wish to go to heaven and ask God to bring me all the jazz bands and play great music like that 🙏.

I disagree, he just might be the greatest musician of all time.

First time I heard Wave was played by author himself at the video recording for somekind of Swiss tv channel, where great Vinicious was drinking and havin' fun with the group. So that version is in my heart forever.

one of the great moments in music. wave...what a song. it makes you want to fly, to excel , to be your best. it is elevating and we have jobim and basil to thank for it.

oscar was perhaps the greatest jazz pianist to ever live (although Art Tatum is often chosen as the best) Oscar's only problem is he sometimes overwhelms the music with his masterful technique - he is somewhat restrained here and it is a marvel to behold his performance

Jazz é complicadíssimo. Pra tocar jazz bem, tem que ser muito muito bom. Mas embora o Tom não tivesse a mesma proficiência no piano, era também um gênio da música.

The bass player with Peterson is also good (Can't say if it is NHØP) and most of all, I like the drums to Peterson, whereas many other drummers sound as noise to me.
