I'm here today because it's a particular anniversary. It doesn't have to do (almost) anything with black people, but I will share. On this day they killed with an act of terrorism Paolo Borsellino, an important figure for all Sicilians. His death caused by a bomb that followed the death of Giovanni Falcone some weeks before and many others. I always felt like the mafia victims were kind of our holocaust. But what's worse is... nothing changed. When Borsellino died, they hid his agenda. It was the biggest dépistage of italian history, and to this day our nation is still depending on mafia. They keep on blaming us, my people, and the first victims of it all. Today it's not a secret anymore that italian politician Silvio Berlusconi was associated with Cosa Nostra (Sicilian Mafia). Well, our government has recently proposed to name the airport of Milano in his name, so that if you fly a thousand kilometers and more from Palermo to Milano, you are flying from the Falcone & Borsellino airport to the Berlusconi airport. They are aiming to remove some crimes in administration and speculate on infrastructures in Sicily. South Italy isn't doing well: public investment are always the lowest, the population on constant exodus. They used to believe we were a separate race: for Sicily, in instance, we were considered inferior because of our African and Arab DNA heritage. Today a lot of discrimination and stereotypes about us still exist. I don't know if you knew, but many people call us "Terrone" (derived from "dirty"), because to them we are nothing but lazy, dirty, dumb criminals..yet, I see that my country is really the one always advocating for a criminal mentality, and my people are their scapegoat. I came here today because it felt like the right mood. I hope someday my people will learn something from your history, and find the strength to stand up. That's it, hope you have a good night and free Sicily. Antudo brothers and sisters.

No es lo mismo pero nos queda en nuestros oídos y en el corazón. Gracias por haber existido y seguir llenando el aire con tu música.😢😊❤
