Fascinating discussion. I like how he tied what he called "The Great Awokening" into the American tradition of Great Awakenings. Also very interesting comments about Revelation and it's anti-empire influence on people like Marx. (Without Christianity there is no Marxism - I'm sure this would make right -wing heads explode if they actually pondered it)

Good afternoon from the rainy SF Bay Area. Thank you so much for this insightful conversation, it dovetails exactly with my studies of the ancient world and trying to understand the current American Evangelical radical right Christian movement. Blessings.
