Tom has been very open about his former drug use before his acting career took off. He says that acting helped him stay focus on a better future. I assumed he was saying he didn't want to make a "political statement," because he doesn't want any of his fans to think he judges them for their choices, and what they choose to do. He basically was saying- whether they do them or not, i don't judge.

I like that he is not judgemental some alcoholics stop drinking and then think everyone else who ever drinks is an alcoholic too so he does not make assumptions about everyone else just lives his own life.

By contrast, Shia'a alcohol problems have been in the media alot, and his own movie (Honey boy). So I thought this is what Tom was referring to. Either way, I hope that they do more films together. They both make amazing films, the chemistry in Lawless was fantastic.

I've seen a number of his movies now. He's my #1. He's so outlandishly different in each and every role of seen him in. You see legendary actors like Pacino and others of his like and they are typically the same in every movie. Tom hardy is the definition of a true actor in my mind. Some roles you flat out don't see Tom hardy at all in the character he's portraying.

So her and Nick Cave are cracking up - its why they are teasing and laughingly at him. Nick jokingly called him a son of a bitch. Great film, I grew up in rural South Georgia where a Grandpa May have been through some similar escapades and I found ‘Lawless very realistic, believable and authentic. Great job y’all! Keep up the great work.

I'm glad someone mentioned his accent in Lawless. His deep southern accent is amazing! I'm from Arkansas, he sounds like he is from around here. I understood the whole movie without subtitles.

Tom Hardy was Amazing with this role. My father is from eastern Kentucky and he was spot on in his role. In fact his role reminded of my Father is in real life. My Father has told me many stories of the moonshine days. My Father became a sniper for our military at age 18 an expert marksman. So glad I learned at age 7 to respect the weapons in our home as well as use them. Never one accident amongst 5 children. To this day I will carry with the right to protect the very life God has given me.

Tom Hardy is pretty down to earth kind of guy and I'm a big fan, great actor, as are the people sitting along side of him I'm also a big fan of guy Pearce who I think is one of the greatest actors to come out of Australia, imho

They are so-called "specialized" journalists; but you have "specialist" and specialist... In France, journalists who talk about movies ask often the same silly questions about things we don't care to actors and actresses. Amazingly annoying. And I say that, as a French independent journalist who loves movies.

The Finnish guy with the huge notepad works for a tabloid magazine where there are mostly crappy translated articles about crappy and useless stuff, and their short movie reviews are shallow at best, catering for the mainstream, so there's no serious talk about movies. You can't expect much from them, unfortunately.

Watching these panels there is always someone who gets all the attention. At comic con during the Avengers panel Tom Hiddleston got the majority of the questions too. During the True blood panel Alexander Skaarsgard got the majority of the questions. I watched one with some people from the Sherlock tv series and Benedict Cumberbatch got a lot of questions.

What a line up-Nick Cave, Tom Hardy et al, of my fav musicians and actors within spitting distance of each other.

While he's no Brando... no one will ever BE Brando, there's this Brandoesque rawness about him, in his acting. He definitely reminds me of him.

Overrated? Underrated is the correct adjective. I'm sorry but anyone who's seen Bronson or Stuart: A life backwards, or even Warrior, will surely attest that he is a phenomenal actor with a huge breadth of ability.

How embarrassing for these actors to answer these questions lol. Tom Hardy is great !
