Tom is not just improving week on week, he is accelerating way up there and becoming so well rounded! I think he’s doing amazingly well for this point in the competition in both ballroom and Latin, especially considering he didn’t dance on week 2. He seems to grasp the mood of each dance and is always able to get it across to the audience so that we feel it with him and can really enjoy it. Plus his partnership with Amy is lovely and underrated 💛

That’s putting down the other professionals. They are all their in their own right. All have had to train to get way they are and devote countless hours for the art. Amy is an amazing dancer yes, but do not discredit the other professionals :)

Score: *8* Tom really went out for it this week and I WAS HERE FOR IT!! The hip isolations were pretty good (I do agree with Craig with more figure-eight rotations), I am happy that he showed himself tonight while being on the money with the musicality. In addition, the lifts were pretty good. I feel like Tom is going to come and shock us in the coming weeks if he keeps up the good work. Good Job Tom!!

I wasn’t expecting him to be so good but this was in my top 3 performances of the night. Tom gave it everything and Amy is a great choreographer 👏🏽👏🏽

Yes I thought dianne would have got him also. She has had some rotten luck the past few years going out WAY too early with Dev and having to withdraw this year. Let’s hope next year she goes far in the competition.

Incredible choreography and fantastic vibes!! Kudos to these two!! Very painful however that amongst all amazing salsa songs available through history they choose a non salsa one... it would have been a great chance to give some love to actual Latin music ♡

There was a lot going on in this routine and Tom did a great job in remembering the complicated choreography and I thought that he handled the lifts really well, I would just have liked a bit more hip action from him. I prefer a more intimate Salsa as opposed to the ones with all the tricks and lifts if I'm honest, but I enjoyed watching this.

I thought this was very enjoyable and I think the song helped, the lifts were tricky and clean, very good armography, all the figure 8 sections were great but when hes out of them I would like to see more hip action however the energy and commitment was there. Tom's arms have improved his hands are no longer like spatulas and overall I thought this really suited him, but he needs to get more into the ground for this but it was really lovely and the musicality wss exquisite. All the bits without Amy he did perfectly and I believe I saw a one handed cartwheel so overall I thought it was excellent and I thought the rhythym was very natural. *9/10*

8 Nice! This guy is consistently fun to watch and he's improving! This had all the right vibes for a Salsa and he was completely in the dance rhythmically and musically, without hitting it too hard, which so many Celebs do these days. Hip action and arm placement were strong too. The main problem, for me, was with the choreography; I felt that the lifts were a little to ambitious and overused. Tom coped with them well but he had to keep pausing and visibly concentrating on them so it broke the fluidity of the dance a bit. He also anticipated the beat on one a occasion but he ntoiced it and didn't lose time which is very commendable. Loved this dance though and he's a contender for the final!

meh, the choreo wasn't bad as Strictly salsa goes, but the song had absolutely zero salsa vibe. No trace of latin rhythm, no trace of salsa spirit. I despair of the music they use for salsa on Strictly, it's absolute rubbish almost every single time.

I felt a bit unsafe when Amy was doing that leg wrapped around his neck lift, just feels like he's not quite the solid anchor he needs to be for her... And it seemed like thee wasn't a whole lot of Salsa itself? Though it was absolutely packed and the tricks and other stuff he did do was great. I dunno, I quite enjoyed it on first watch, but on second even though I still like it overall, there's a few things bugging me, like fluidity and possibly his posture(?)

How did he rehearse to this with the studio track 😭 the song is so slow this is just a different version

some of us having been saying it for a decade or more, Sylvia. The music used on the show has never been great - almost every dance to almost every rhythm is forced into contemporary pop music as though the producers think that the audience won't understand any other type of music. Occasionally there's a flash of brilliance, but... Salsa has always seemed one of the worst for it, perhaps because those of us who know, love and dance salsa socially know that there is so much amazing music out there that they could use.

Agreed! The song felt rushed. They tried to make the best of it but if the musik feels hectic it'll translate to the moves easily :(

Although I liked the dance and think it was nice to watch there wasn’t much salsa in it.. seems like clever choreography to get away with something that looks good 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d still give an 8/10 as the choreography isn’t a fault of Tom’s

Did anyone feel like Tom’s arms weren’t very well placed? They looked like they were sort of flailing in places. Still one of his best dances imo

Overhyped, to be honest. I often forget about him, and the remake of the song was unnecessary.

I hated how this was done by the band. Harry doesn’t sing it so fast ! Just sounded bad and there was no base. Shouldn’t have used this song to do it so bad !

I didn't like this routine to be honest. In terms of energy and musicality, Tom was off the charts, but stylistically, body action-wise, technicality-wise, this was more of a street dance than a salsa. Salsa is about constantly producing the figure eight with the hips, salsa is all about settling into the hips, dancing almost in one place in order to roll the hips beautifully and in time with the music. Tom had zero hip action, it all was too much jumping for my taste, not enough actual salsa steps, Tom danced too wide, he didn't had that Cuban vibe in his body. It was more hip-hop based freestyle... his steps were too big, he didn't use his hips at all he didn't close his feet, his arms were pretty messy, not enough proper steps, too much showdance vibes... my score: a 6.
