Not a Patriots fan, but I absolutely respect what this guy has done. Brady started playing in the NFL’s dead ball era, a time where throwing over 30 TDs was reserved only for legends, a time when John Madden could say with a straight face that with 1:21 on the clock and the score tied, the team with the ball in their hands in the *Super Bowl* should play for overtime, because it really was just that difficult to move the ball on defenses back then. He didn’t have the best stats because that wasn’t important in that time, not as much as intangible qualities like leadership and moxie. Troy Aikman never had the best stats, but he got three rings. And then he not into continued to thrive in the modern era, but he elevate his game to a whole other level and shed the “game manager” label for good. He’s one of those rare players who has actually straddled eras and achieved the ideal in both.

Brady lead the league in passing TDs this year with 28 & was top 5 in yards. Wearing double arm sleeves w/ the gloves gave him a unique look. Didn't give him the keys but they certainly ran the offense through him. Pats vs Lions was another good game in 2002 (Thanksgiving). The Pats nearly ran out the entire 4th quarter to win the game. Brady conducted the offense beautifully.

That could be why he had all those comebacks.. Ever notice how whenever opposing teams would play Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers, everyone seemed to elevate or enhance their quality of play and completely show out against them (causing the media to unfairly put most of the blame on Peyton and Rodgers for their failures), but whenever opposing teams play Tom Brady, everyone (coaches and players alike) just suddenly gets dumber and dumber and DUMBER and just lose all sense of fundamentals, integrity, and awareness! The amazing thing about Tom and it's evident in this game with Randy Cross talking about it (you have to watch the full telecast); he was compared to Joe Montana early in his career. For a guy who wasn't picked high, that's unheard of to be compared to the GOAT at the time. Normally it's a top draft pick. It's a lot of pressure to deliver with that high bar but as we all know TB12 delivered on those comparisons.

People often get lost in the fact that the 2003 offense was subpar by most standards (still very good when it mattered though). The 2001 and 2004 teams were just good teams on both sides of the ball and complimented each other extremely well. All you need is a defense that gets timely stops and an offense that gets timely scores. New England had both.

The moment The Empire proved they aren't a fluke. From this point forward, you never, ever wanted to count out Touchdown Tom. (Well, we WANT to, but we shouldn't.) Also, that Brady shove which was flagged... nice to be reminded that his fiery, competitive (or flat-out angsty) side is nothing new at all.

I was at this game. We got cheap season tickets because they were playing in Champaign. They lost every game I went to, including another blown 20 point lead against the saints.

Imagine being a fan that left before the booth review on the interception thinking the Bears won only to find out later that night or the next morning that the Patriots won after it was called incomplete 😂 Also, heck of a football play by Brady to punch the ball out like a defender. I don’t think I’ve never seen that from a QB

The Patriots were playing real good ball by the end of the year, but at 9-7 after beating Miami in a threeway tie-breaker lost out when the Jets decided to over to Lambeau Field in the afternoon and beat Brett Farves Packers 35-7, which gave Miami the Division Title.

Man, one hell of a throw from Brady though to win that game.....steps out of pressure and threw a perfect dart basically off his back foot....what the hell was McQuarters doing on that play?

I know the Bears were playing at the college's stadium but they couldn't get the Bears logo in the end zone? Or was it this weekend Illinois had home game the day before n too quick a turnaround? Or was it some kind of nod to the Bears are all Illinois' team? Or was it just too hard back then with the surface and type of paint? 😂 my brain working it's magic
