I'm featuring the music of the Thompson Twins on my YT channel, so I was curious to hear what the band sounded like playing live today, and KZread led me to this clip. An interesting performance. I ended up being distracted by the drummer and bass player, because it looked like to me that they weren't actually playing their instruments. I don't know why they wouldn't be...in a live concert...but something seemed off. Singers are going to have bad nights, we can't expect them to be perfect every single night so I don't want to judge Tom on this single performance. At least he is singing! Pay to go see The Eagles in concert and you're going to hear Don Henley on tape. But still, it's weird that the musicians seemed to be playing along to a prerecorded track. I hope that's not the case.
@nullarborjack3 жыл бұрын
We need Joe and Allanah to come along one day and complete the trio. Tom left the band way too early, but we understand why he did so. One week a year working together would be fun! Hey Tom, I always thought Quickstep and Sidekick would make a great idea for a film.

How are the 80s back?
What a terrific song. So many memories.
Fascinating when you have sung a song so many hundreds of times after 40 years you don't have the energy to sing it properly any more. Still after all this time the song is still worth listening to. This version is like a defalted balloon.

been a fan of Thompson Twins from the beginning, Beautiful song writing.
Saw them in the early 80s at the Illinois State Fair. Met them as they got off stage. Tom was very very nice!

My dad worked security at that concert. I was so jealous of him, getting to see them! (I was at a summer camp of some sort...) And of course, for him it was just a job. I did eventually get to see them in concert, at the SIU-C arena, in 1986 I think.
First band I ever saw live was the Thompson twins around 1986 when I was 16. Played with OMD. Still remember being in the 1st row
I'm loving this band. These women are great!

To say that Tom Bailey phoned this one in would unfairly cast the telephone in a negative light.
I'm back in HS with my neon pink Thompson Twins socks on attending the concert outside of Chicago. It's like I'm right back there. Thank you, TT

His keyboard playing is out of time, and ouch, hitting the wrong notes. I would have thoughts he would have cracked it by now, 40 years later!!

This is Daniel ales yes I am a big fan of the Thompson twins all ways have been a big fan I am a fan of all the songs that I play on utube on my phone god bless u all
I'm featuring the music of the Thompson Twins on my YT channel, so I was curious to hear what the band sounded like playing live today, and KZread led me to this clip.
We need Joe and Allanah to come along one day and complete the trio. Tom left the band way too early, but we understand why he did so. One week a year working together would be fun! Hey Tom, I always thought Quickstep and Sidekick would make a great idea for a film.
