I like how they brought the old scream back and it’s a bit more violent than the new episodes which is good. The violence is what made the old ones so great after all!

The movie even used many other sound effects from the old cartoons, too. Like the impacts of the characters being hit. The director (Tim Story) confirmed that the old Tom scream wasn't the only sound effect from the cartoons used in the film.

Ikr that's what I basically loved about this movie. It was basically tom and jerry put into the real world. I felt like that was such a clever move for this movie

It’s rather impressive how much damage Tom and Jerry can cause in such a short amount of time. But hey, you can’t expect any less from the greatest rivalry of all time.

I don’t think it gets talked enough, but the compositing between the cartoons and the live action destruction go hand in hand! Wish the movie would have focused more on that, but it’s a family film that falls on tropes so I’ll take it over the 90s Tom and Jerry movie any day!

The only thing people didn't like is that this film focused more on the hotel instead of Tom and Jerry themselves and all the mischief they caused.

I came into this movie expecting Tom and Jerry hijinks and slapstick comedy and it delivered. I love this movie.

That may be true but considering how Tom was hired by the hotel staff to get rid of Jerry before the wedding. Jerry is basically the bad guy in the scenario.

I would disagree with Tilan Milaj. I never would think of Tom as a heroic good guy. Tom, like Sylvester, is a 100% bad ol' puddy-tat. Jerry, however, will always, always, 1,000 times always, be a full-fledged do-gooder. A true hero who's always 100% cute and loveable. All Tom does is create destruction any place and EVERY place just to catch and murder an innocent little mouse like Jerry. I'd feel much better having a mouse like Jerry as my pet and friend than a cat like Tom. He's no innocent cute little kitty-cat. He's DANGEROUS! Also ROUGH, TOUGH, AND MEAN! And also stupid enough to underestimate a nice (and clever and smart) mouse like Jerry. So, Tilan... TAKE THAT!! Mice Rule and Cats Drool!

Except Tom and Sylvester are not the same characters. Sylvester is the predator who tries to eat a bird. Tom is just a house cat who does his job and gets rid of Jerry, who's often the instigator.
