The Tokyo 2020 Olympics were officially declared open in a heart-warming ceremony which culminated with Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka as the final torchbearer to lit the Olympic cauldron. Indian boxer Mary Kom and men's hockey captain Manpreet Singh led the way for Team India at the Parade of Nations.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games are taking place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021

This statement was really strong after almost 1 year and a half of the pandemic. I think Tokyo did its best to host the Olympics and I was sad that despite all the investment they did, they did not have the return expected. Thanks, Tokyo for these incredible games, I will remember this for the rest of my life.
Such an auspicious ceremony without public participation is painful to see. Long live the the spirit of sports.

It's a treat to video gamers to hear video game music from favorite Japanese titles in an international events as a fanfare for the athletes. Then we have the pictogram drama. xD Wonder how it will look like if no pandemic took place, and I thought it'd be grand knowing Japanese culture is rich in traditional, modern, futuristic and quirks. I miss traveling there. ;u;

Honestly, Tokyo 2020/21 Paralympics opening and closing ceremony is a MILLION times better than this ceremony. Dentsu doesn’t know how to do an opening ceremony properly. All respect to those performers who took part in this ceremony tho.
