Well yeah, but the opening doesn't really count as part of the OST, it's much more of an iconic way to identify the anime, and even then, the opening did get put into the OST in Root A, as an acoustic arrangement which i think is probably the best thing they could've done.

It's totally true, as a pianist, this is very accurate. Pianos are just like a lot of persons that walk at your side carrying you to the world that you create when a piece is bootyful and gives you chills.

@Jean Roux Especially when you've been with the same piano for years. I have a Grand Piano myself which I've had for a while now (rn I'm 17 but I've had it for like 4-5 years). Every night when I go to the living room to turn off the lights I can't help but smile at her. She's sitting there so beautifully in the corner of the room. Humidity control system showing that lovely green light signalling she's okay. Then checking my hygrometer, and turning off the light. It's like I'm verbally telling her good night somehow and so is she. It sounds really weird if you're not a pianist, but sometimes you really feel like you're communicating with your instrument. And when I wake up she's there for me. The only thing in my life that will always be there for me

Most of the Tokyo ghoul songs to me are so emotional. Maybe because they made the characters and the songs relate in so much emotion and meaning. Its enough to make a grown man cry. Literally. The animators and composers made the scenes of this anime, no. This masterpiece of a show so beautiful in its own ways. Of how little shows can make such a connection and feel emotion through just a couple songs. This is always going to be one of the best anime’s of its time and will never be overthrown.

The piano is such a powerful instrument... I can listen to a million covers and remixes a day, but at the end of it, the piano tugs at my heartstrings every time... well done. This is absolutely beautiful. Bless the genius who wrote this music in the first place as well. So, so powerful.

People often excuse all the hard work and talent to "eh, he's asian," and i feel like they're just salty that they can't devote the same amount of effort into doing the things they love

Asian culture typically is associated with very hardworking individuals who tend to be especially good at music and academics. Their stereotype doesn't assume that they're just naturally good at what they do but more that they have invested countless hours into their passion.

You realize his parents didn't force him, right? He learned the piano entirely by ear when he was around 13 and played out of pure passion and love for the instrument.

This is genuinely one of the most beautiful piano pieces i have ever heard. Enough to make my eyes water. And not just because i know the accompanying story. It is just that absolutely magnificent.

Coffee in Tokyo Ghoul is symbolic. It's always a reminder for Kaneki on what Yoshimura thought to him through "perfect" brewing of coffee that connects people while conversing or simply having a peaceful time. And Yoshimura wanted that peace. And the coffee was the tangible symbol of that. Which is why its sad when everything or mostly in Tokyo Ghoul, all about tragedy

three years later and its safe to say this is still my favourite video on the internet.

I have spent months learning this exact version and it still gives me the same relief it gave me when i first heard it. Thank you Theishter for this perfect piece.

This is truly the most beautiful piece of music that completely envelops my mind and soul. It should be a crime to wield a piano so masterfully.

When the finger slides slowly off the key at the end, you know it was played with emotion.

I listen to it all the time. After knowing Kaneki's and touka's fear you can just feel the same thoughts of sadistic, and the darkest feelings you could possibly ever feel.

I had the strong urge to cry while listening to this. No reason whatsoever, just the sound triggered memories of an ex I never had or something 😂 God I love your playing. I hope that one day I can become as good as you

This cover is so beautiful. It has this sort of dramatic emotion that makes it ring in my memory. I was listening to someone play this cover in my school lobby too.
