Wow I’m gonna read the manga for a lot of reasons but the main one is that they didn’t explain half of the things that happened in the anime like for instance that guy that has a full mask on and can regenerate his body even when he’s cut in half, i mean who is he and why did they make him seem related to eto in the show when all we know is that eto is the only owl’s kid

When i was a 9th grader , i used to go walking to school , the weather was extremely cloudy and it was spitting , i kept looking closely at all the raindrops that i could look at on my way to school , and this music was being played inside of my head , and when i used to come to the class early before anyone , i used to stare through the window , looking at the black clouds and smelling the wet soil , and since then , i started thinking about life deeply until it has became a habit for me , i was a common shallow person no more , i gotta thank this anime for making me the most beautiful teenage memories , i really wish i could go back in time and repeat all the suffer of the past to live it correctly

Probably my most edgy anime phase, but idk why and how? Whenever I listen to any of it's soundtrack it give me a sense a nostalgia. Like remembering a once carefree childhood, and it has been 3 years since the manga ended so fuck I want to forget this anime and manga and experience it all over again ;-; , sorry for the paragraph.

@@uwot9021 do you mean the animation and the storyline of :re? Yes, so let's just forget about that and hope Ishida get the anime re-adaptation it so rightfully deserve. But the song and the ost of :re though, you'd have to admit Remembering was a real tear jerker imo.

Brothers, He ment the manga, not the anime.

TOKYO ghoul had potential to be one of the best psychological anime with the likes of Evangelion or Serial Experiments Lane . But the pacing by the studio ruined it. I never understood why they tried to fit such a beautiful masterpiece by Sui Ishida into a 12 Episode season. If it had 24 episodes per season and there were 4 seasons even then I would have watched it. TOKYO ghoul deserved better than what it got. Man I have read the manga and the vibes and the mysterious atmosphere is unexplainable.

Watched this back when the first season aired, had zero idea what 9 yr old me was doing watching such a show. It’s so vivid though. Amazing time in my life, tokyo ghoul will always have a special place in my heart. I gave in and read the manga in 2020 and jesus christ i was missing out. Gorgeous art by Sui, tokyo ghoul will forever be amazing.

@miss. noname natsu One large difference between Pierrot(Clown) Studios and David Production is that DP loves and cares about JoJo, even if JoJo is in my opinion solid, everything was animated strictly from the manga and they knew when to add details to make it even better. Look at AOT, everyone is hyped up about new season and they call it masterpiece, while Tokyo Ghoul will always be remembered as "that one rushed edgy anime" because of this fucking clowns of production.

I think the anime that used to take you away from your problems, also takes apart of us with it, and so once we remember what we lost it tends to show the emotions we had experienced in that moment ( I'd like to say the anime that took us away but even if our age gap isn't more than 2 years, you could be talking about a whole different set of anime. ) I'm not a emotional man either, however my first time hearing this after so many years my eyes felt like they held tears for a moment. Just wanted to say I loved seeing this, and talking about it, and all I can hope is that more people find these feelings for a song.
