Tokyo 8K Shibuya to Harajuku Street View by Train
Shibuya to Harajuku / Omotesando is one of the great Tokyo 1-2 punches for tourists visiting the city. Today in vibrant 8K, we'll walk to the Yamanote Line and take the train to Harajuku, walk down Takeshita Street and up to Omotesando Station.
Live streams are usually in 720p so we skipped HD and 4K to went straight to 8K. Why? Why not!
You can also watch in HD and 4K or even 144p if you like :) the power of KZread.

The sounds of the JR train stations just hit my heart so god damn hard
I already rescheduled my cancelled flight of January this year to June 2022 next year. I'm so excited. Can't wait for Japan to accept visitors again.
I am loving these 8K videos, more so with trains in it! Thanks, John!
Trains and planes get thumbs up every time.
Enjoying the journey. Looking forward to visiting Tokyo again in the near future.

We love Shibuya so exciting⛩❤️
It's so good to see the streets of Tokyo alive again!
Fantastic in 8K! Thank you, John!
Love these 8K videos!
Miss all the train station sounds.😔
Lovely to catch John 8k video with train ride to Harajuku on and no where else
When I lived in Tokyo, Harajuku and Meiji Jingu Park were one of my favorite places to go to see the punk bands play on the street. I'm losing my ability to walk, so I really appreciate these walks through Today's Tokyo to keep up.
Great journey John. Looking forward to being back in Japan in the near future. Thanks again.
I miss the train announcements and the station jingles sooo much! Thx John!
Ah, so many memories of Tokyo. These 8k videos look absolutely fantastic!
Love this new format. The livestreams are great with the live interaction but the resolution dropping to minecraft level periodically just takes away from the experience. This really makes us feel like "we're there with you".
So sad to see the old Harajuku station gone. I hoped that the facade could have been integrated into whatever took its place. Many happy and poignant memories of that old building, saying goodbye to friends after a happy Sunday afternoon, taking a breather there after the Meji shrine New Years chaos, lingering over a good bye kiss, the crush in the overpass, too bad another piece of Tokyo history is gone.
Loved watching your video in 8K. I totally can see the differences between HD and 4K. Its much sharper and clearer. Keep those 8k coming.
The 8K resolution so special! bring me new experience & ultra super clear on the big screen, always looking for the new video..Thank you.
Gorrrrgeous. Thank you, John!
I remember going to Takeshita Dori 15 years ago. Just walking around there on Sunday morning was incredible. The journey started in Yoyogi Park where there were groups of rockabillies with weird hair dancing around a cassette, then crossing a bridge where all the lolitas, goth and punk youngsters gathered and finally ending in Takeshita Street, doing window shopping around independent designers shops. Now it looks like that people go there for the Ikea and the crepes... Well, things change I guess, but I feel lucky that I witnessed that japanese rebel culture at that time Thanks for the video, 8K looks gorgeous!
missed it live as I have missed a few, due to issues that sometimes happen as we age. there still the best with you leading us to seeing and enjoying everything that is Japan! it's always a pleasure and to see the crowds are back thanks john
Amazing! Thank you for sharing it ✌️
I missed the live video, but I got gorgeous Omotesando in 8K. Thank you so much John!
Enjoyable premiere , even though i didn’t saw this from the start 👍Arigato !!!
Loved the 8K!!🥰😘😘😘
Thank you , 8K so amazing
How much I miss walking the streets of Japan! Thanks for the refresh!!!
Great video John! Area reminds me of Shoreditch area in London but better ofcourse, amazing video as always really feel like we are walking with you
I enjoyed it!
A really beautiful and fun place! The resolution and video quality is excellent!
I just got an LG C1 4K tv recently and the picture quality is amazing in this video! Definitely do more of these as I’d enjoy watching it in the morning while I’m having my breakfast. 🙂
+1 fan here! this is so awesome!
I love the 4k and i love 8 k also!! thanks for the new format! I know what you mean about Takeshita st. It's like St Mark's in NYC.. for that matter the BOTH villages East and West.
Great video John
The 4k looks amazing
That was awesome! Can't wait when I get the opportunity and travel to Japan for the first time! Arigato gozaimasu!
I missed the premiere but wow this is cool. Thanks John! That would be funny to watch in 144p...lol
AWESOMENESS! Thank you! :-)
heading there tomorrow!! My wife's getting a haircut in Omotesando area. Such a cool spot!
the intro subtitles are on fire! impressive
This is why I subscribed to ONLY in Japan! High reso! I can't wait to travel back to Japan.
Absolutely blown away.
Loving these hi res "streams"!
Legend!

Nice idea! There’s almost no 4G signal in there for upload so 8K is a nice idea.
Wow. 8k is great 👍 so love 💕 this from South Korea 🇰🇷 thanks 🙏
Lol, people in the chat more interested in the equipment you use and I'm interested to see what you are showing us! Thanks for showing us this video and love all your streams!
Takeshita St. is not on my list of places to visit in Tokyo but this was still a fun video to watch. Plus you got on the Yamanote line , which is always cool. Your such a good sport.
Hello John Loved watching this video but it's a little bitter sweet as I should have arrived in Tokyo on Saturday and walking there in person! Ah well here's hoping for next year! Stay well out there ... Thank you
John! It’s SO clear on my 720 tv. I can see the patterns in your shirt and details in everything. The color and blacks are amazing as well. I think it’s just because I’m so used to the iPhone streams and your DSLR has a better sensor to capture everything. If you can, please do more and maybe even of nature or parks! Thank you for this video and I hope you’re working your arm muscles out!
Memories of the earliest video we saw of yours in Harajuku- we laughed so much. I hope the ACDC Rag owner is still going strong!
Great walk along... it really has changed a lot. Thanks for pointing out Tokyo Union Church (TUC) _ a supportive community amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. The current pastor, Steve Yamaguchi, is from Southern California.

I am so glad to hear that the community is doing well and I’ll stop in one day to say hi. I’ve been once during my 23 years here.
Well, it looks like I am going to finally have to get a Roku system and a new TV, so that I can watch your videos in all of their glorious 8K beauty.
Thanks for bringing back the memories John. Loved visiting Harajuku in 2018 just before the old station closed. But I hardly recognise the place now. Shame about the chain stores taking over. You lose the uniqueness and could just be in any other city in the World. Keep it special, I agree. Great video.
The natural zoom effects at around 4:50 are trippy.
NEO The World Ends With You is so faithful to Shibuya. Very impressive!
Looks great on my 65” 4K TV much better than the old live streams…now for some Tokyo night videos 😉

Yes!! Time for some late night walks!!
Monday day looks good
Like the logo at the beginning 🌟
I used to take dance classes in Millenium Dance Complex there in Harajuku! Missing Takeshita-dori a lot!
Well that's is the best live stream
I miss the old Harajuku too.
The quality was amazing my phone has 4k screen and looked amazing
@16:00 I like the sort of "chaotic architecture in a orderly way" dynamic going on :D
On my iPhone 13 this video looks amazing. 😍 Not full 8k, but in a better quality than the normal streams and videos.
Hi, I would have to take a Uber or train because sadly I have some health issues but if I could I would walk every were there like I used to do were I grew up. My teenage daughter would love that street like most teenagers and young adults do now a days. Thanks for the tour and train ride John.
love the videos John, shout out to Tokyo Cheapo, did they stop doing Videos completely? I havent hear anything from them in over a year! Hope to be back in Japan soon! Thank you for the great vids all these while!

I don’t know - I know the pandemic made it very hard to shoot anything, most of my own shoots were cancelled and countless my rescheduled as the state of emergency continued and was renewed. I’ll catch up the Greg there soon.
Stunning on my LG 4K OLED John! Can you do one of the Ginkgo trees at peak yellowness? You know that street lined with them & surroundings? 🤗

I’ll see what I can do - certainly do some autumn colors in Tohoku soon.
My request is for a video around Yokosuka. Your videos are great, like being there. I was in the American naval base at Yokosuka back in the era. The good days of 360 Yen to the dollar. Yokosuka town is kilometers below the area. Zushi Beach is to the west of the region. In your style of video. I recall taking the train from Yokosuka up to mostly Yokohama, with some Tokyo. I heard the Japanese fleet was kept at Yokosuka during W.W. II if wanting to research history.
Also Love Live music at 17:00 lol
Bape stores are also around that ometesando area
I remember I saw mario cart in harajuku last time I was there. Good times
Went to Baird beer taproom in 2019 summer, had a great experience, even was lucky enough to meet the owner, super nice guy from the US I believe! Would go again.

When he’s not there, I’ve heard (and experienced) some of the worst service in Japan. It’s hit or miss 🎯 but the beer is good. The Meguro one is better I hear.

My phone is only capable of 4k but this was amazing
Thanks john for the video. btw, can anyone plot a route of this walk into a map URL?
😊👍
I only have 4k tv, but still looks awesome. being locked down in melbourne I feel we will never get to see Japan.

So true! Best time is May and RIGHT NOW!
You should go to....Shimonokitazawa~
a bit the 'fashion street' stalls in Kowloon HK different side of Japan
I see no one wearing t-shirt/golf shirts and cargo pants... 😀
What phone are you shooting with or what camera are you using and are you using a gimbal or Steadicam feature
Sad I can't see 8K on my computer
I heard for some shops that sell diecast cars, figures, models, etc, they don't want you filming so that you don't compare prices with other stores.
At about 7:10 is the train station announcer possibly Peter?
Would like to see you do livestream in yokohama chinatown going to gundam factory
