It also speaks volumes about how this child was raised. He is so gentle when he touches that bird. He is going to grow up to be a wonderful man. ❤
I'm glad the parents had the good sense and kind heart to not just let "nature take its course." Crows are really cool birds.

Right?!?! It seems like it's nearly impossible to get help for wild animals that are sick or injured. I'm glad this kind family took it upon themselves to save this beautiful bird's life. Very cool! ❤

True. If only trillions of animals weren't abused and slaughtered each year for food alone!
Wonderful story in so many levels....Crows have been important in many cultures for centuries. I grew-up in very wooded area. Gotten messages from them that kept me out of danger off and on for decades.

I had a pet crow Named Lucky.I would bring me a object if I put something Shiney on pourch..We played together bringing objects to each other. We lived way out in country.that was my play time a lot. After I got my school workdone.also had to work in garden to have good food.draw water and cut wood for cook stove and in winter for the heater.Crows are very smart.
A really gentle and caring story. Thank you. I am an Australian and want to say that this action was so beautiful and very much like a local Australian story in the state called Queensland, when a family found and rescued a baby magpie which grew up in their home and outside. I once rescued a young starving magpie in Tasmania and found a certified local wildlife carer in that took it in. I gave them some money to help. ♥️

My question is this bird is a magpie, not a crow Am I correct?
What a wonderful story!.What kindness to nurse Russell back to health instead of letting "nature take its course". ❤
And the circle of life continues because of compassion and love. Love is the most important energy in nature as well as life.
Oh Bless! Crows are Very Smart! They Know things about People. What a Beautiful Story. I think it is good for Both of them this Friendship Bond!♥️💜💙💖💚💛🌈🤗 God sends the Right Beings In for Each Other at the Right Times. Thank You for Being Good Hearted People! 😊
Friends are made for life ! Russell and Otto will always be friends! Respect goes along with love AND love wins again ! All creatures great and small ! God bless !!
What a beautiful friendship. One they will never forget.
I was 7 or 8 and a full grown Crow just showed up one day. Perfectly healthy and attached himself to me. He moved in to our house. He'd wait on the roof of my house and when I'd get home from school he'd swoop down and land on me. He'd eat meals with us. Follow my mom around the house during the day. After a year ... He just disappeared. That was 60 years ago ... A magical childhood memory.
I am so glad they helped Russell. Life always finds a way in the arms of caring people who love unconditionally.
I love that they play together.. so cute! ❤
This is truly something to crow about. 😊
Coming from someone who "takes the name" of the bird, itself... *This* almost makes me wish I could shed tears, simply because I adore it that much. I am probably one of the first who will tell you that once a bird such as the crow endears you, that is a bond just like with anything with fur. Corvids (crows, ravens, what have you) are equally as family oriented as the rest of nature's most protective furry creatures. That's a bond that will last quite some time.
I remember one summer my father brought us two baby mockingbirds, the thin neglected ones whom will most likely starve and we fed them, cared them for during our summer vacation. They are so smart as well, we let them go as they started flying around, but kept coming back/hanging around our yards until one day they found spouses and never came back. I remember Jack being a thin, energetic one and Leo was a big boi, lazy and liked to eat. Little QTs. 😊

Probably hatching order. Great story!!! Although they can be real assholes in your garden, avian thuggery, they are wickedly intelligent. I had one that would follow me around as I would mow my 12,000 sq ft front lawn. I would regularly clip lawn moths. He would flash down from the roof and scarf them up. I started getting the moths before he could. I then trained him to come for the moths after I would call to him. He became like my outdoor companion when gardening and doing the lawn. Every time I would find a grub, maggot, bug, I would call him. Toss the dinner onto the street, driveway or a bare surface, and he would swoop down and dine. I also trained him to come for raisins.
Things like this are one of the reasons I remain on Earth. I do not like humans. Very few humans I like. I love all animals. This is a beautiful story

I totally agree with you.
All children should grow up with a pet, whether it is a cat, dog, or in this case, a crow. It teaches a child to respect other living creatures and just as importantly, it teaches a child responsibility in taking care of an animal. I grew up with a puppy from the time my mother brought me home from the hospital I was born in. Almost my entire life has involved having one or more pets at a time. Some we rescued to find forever homes for them and others became family members until they passed on. I do not regret for one moment the time I applied to caring for pets and even wild animals.
Such a wonderful story of a unique and precious friendship. And you named the bird Russell (after the actor, Russell Crowe, I presume!) I have you all have many, MANY happy adventures together!
When we were kids, we were at a lake when we noticed a crow that had either fallen from its nest or had tried to take its first flight. It was under attack by a mob of birds Jays, Scissor Tail Flycatchers, et al We quickly ran to rescue it. The nest was about 30 feet up in the tree. So, we took it home with us. We fed it worms, grubs, cornbread, and moths. We would dunk the foods in a little bit of shortening to fatten him up. My Dad built him a shelter on the top of his shed. He would fly around the backyard. He'd come to us when we called him. He'd land on our heads, arms and shoulders. Cawing right in our ears. When we told our Dad that his claws were too sharp, he took " Jimmy " clipped off the very tips of all his claws and filed them smooth and blunt. When school came round, he would ride on our shoulders as we walked to school. At first he would wait until recess and fly down to be with us. It is difficult to play soccer with a crow on your head. After a month or two, he would return home, and he would be waiting for us when school let out for the walk home. He stayed with us for about 2.5 years. In winter, we'd let him out to fly around the garden, and he'd stay in his shelter . On very cold nights, we would bring him in and place him on a pedestal perch in our bedroom, putting a drape cloth over his cage. The next spring, he became more adventurous, flying around the neighbourhood. That's when the trouble started. He began collecting all things shiny. Like two sets of neighbours' keys. My Dad knew exactly what was going on. He flipped up his shelter, and there was a hoard of shiny items from beer tabs, bottle caps, and neighbour's keys. He stayed with us for another year. But, venturing farther away and sometimes days at a time, until one day he was gone. My Dad just explained it as he's grown up now. And he is off to be with other crows. But, for the next couple of years, he would make a surprise appearance on our fence, and when you would call him, he'd come to you. Me, he really liked crapping on my head. One way to say goodbye. We never saw him again. BTW, he loved Xmas pudding and Xmas cake without the custard

Wonderful story. Thankyou so very very much for your wonderful help
Later in life, I had another bird rescue story. I had just come from a job interview and on my way home, I decided to do some birding at a local, nearby city park. There was this massive throng of Crows, Ravens, and Blue Jays pecking at what I thought was a rabbit carcass. Until said carcass raised its wings up in defiance of the attack. It was a grey phase baby Screech Owl. I dumped my soccer kit bag out and ran to try to save him. I opened the bag as wide as I could and placed it open behind the Owl. I distracted him with the strap and pulled the bag over him, and cinched it shut. I gently roled it over and took him back to work. I then took him along to all my training sessions that day. Seeing the coachable moments here, I showed him to all the kids and explained the importance of, and the role of the Screech Owl in the environment. That evening, I took him to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Little Axe, Oklahoma.
Such a sweet video Thanks for sharing That’s as wholesome as it gets ❤

There is no doubt that they love each other!❤
Very beautiful story, crows are very smart bird like Magpies are in Australia very smart and they both can talk and mimicking dogs and or other birds
Except for pets, most people don’t think that animals are worth very much. Even on the sweetest animal videos, I see people writing cruel words like, “it would make a nice dinner”. I’ve been vegan 10+ years, and I love animals more now than ever. I never think about how they taste now, just appreciate their personalities and antics. Animals have so much they can teach about unselfish love. So glad you rescued this crow and shared this with us!
Lovely truly lovely.
C'est trop mignon 😢❤️
Godbless you!
That is just too cute! Otto truly loves his friend, Russell.

Aweeeee my heart melt 😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is so damn sweet.. ❤
I had magical experience with a crow. We walked past a dumpster where crows were feeding and I impulsively cawed. One of them flew immediately to a branch nearby and crowed at me. So I crowed back. Then she started to croon in a way I never heard a crow before. It felt affectionate. So I crooned back. We went back and forth. Hopefully I will remember that to the day I die.
Heartwarming!!!❤😊
Its so cute we call them grey crows in Ireland 🎉❤
Such a beautiful story!
I always wondered what people mean when they say let nature take its course. 'I am' part of nature. And it is my nature to take part. If I see an animal in distress I will ' naturally' help. END OF STORY.
So sweet❤❤
Adorable
CHEERS FOR HAVING A HUGE HEART AND LETTING THIS AMAZING BIRD INTO YOUR FAMILY AND TODAY IS PART OF THE FAMILY
This is why I feed wild birds everyday
What a beautiful story 😍
It’s a once in a lifetime happening . And a privilege to have the trust of a wild animal. It’s a beautiful video , but I wonder if this bird is a reincarnation of a loved one who has passed . I know it sounds weird and odd, but I have seen other stories like this , there may be something in it …. ❤
Yes, friendship has boundaries. Otherwise it becomes toxic.
Well-done ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Did you know crows can talk? Well some can!if you try to talk to him and maybe he will. Teach him to say hello Otto or my name is Russell! There’s a lady that has one. She says to him where’s Walter? And the bird says I don’t know! So he will say Walter! He’s so cute! So smart!
Isn’t it amazing when a child and a wild bird are best friends?
Beautiful! ❤️❤️
I love this so much❤❤
This is not a crow This is a Magpie However both are in the Corvids which are a group of birds all belonging to the Corvidae family, sometimes called the crow family,
...La Naturaleza nos maravilla..! ( .y , ...le estamos, ajenos...(!?)
Special friends!
I need a crow friend to cure my depression
