By far the best interview of my favorite artist of all time! Way to go Craig! I was so impressed by your honesty and thought-provoking questions. Some wonderful questions with really thoughtful answers. But this hit in the feels: “During the time you’re working out you are loving yourself from the core.” Ahhh….. I so wish a book or a documentary could be a thing for you guys one day. So many interesting things to learn about one of the most endearing bands.

I can understand why Todd resisted making a video of Bittersweet. (Some music videos are just plain stupid) On the other hand, I LOVE watching them play Bittersweet at Red Rocks 2010. Todd looks back at the drummer and smiles as the song begins and ppl start cheering. I Love Todd. Thanks so much for this interview. It was inspiring! ❤

Craig, I love your interviews and am now subbed. It’s great to see Todd! I worked the Beartrap Festival in Casper that Todd headlined and as it worked out I had a gig in another town that night and had to leave the mountain before he played. All my friends raved about them of course which saddened me because I missed it. I completely respect Todd for not making a video of Bittersweet. The theater of the mind is much more satisfying. Hey Todd, I’m 67 years old and still writing, playing and recording. Keep going buddy, it can get even better.

A guy named Brad Jersak(speaking for Jesus) talks about being self-giving, radically forgiving and a compassionate lover of people. Sadly, for most of us, those qualities come later in life but nothing brings more fulfillment in my mind. "Dealing with your brain's resistance to helping your body." Never heard it expressed that way, nice.)

At 34 minutes TPM responds to the question Why is BHTM more successful now than ever. I can tell you why. They tour every year, are humble, have serious skill, play a great mix of music and respect everything they play including hits they play every. single. time they tour. They respect the music and they respect the business and they respect their fans. That is why we keep going. I go every time they are within a couple hours of where I live. They make my life better. I wish they would do another Jamaica resort gig. It was insanely expensive, but I was ready to save up and be insanely frugal for a long time in order to be able to go the second time (which was cancelled). Not much would be more therapeutic for me than being able to see BHTM that close and that often, in such a great environment. It's selfish of me, but there I am. And yeah. Nothing but extraordinary trauma (respect to those who have experienced that) is harder than divorce - at least for someone who loves and cares about people. I've been thought a lot like most folks, and yeah, divorce and the events leading up to it was the hardest thing. Man. Rough.

Tom Waits has the same sense of not selling out his music that TPM discusses about refusing to do a video for Bittersweet at around 39 minutes. Waits still stands by that. He has sued soundalikes - and won.
