Well young man, I just subscribed to your channel. Maybe I can dig on your progress. Yes, I believe that a 160cc would not be enough for all the steel you're hauling around there, and a 500cc would be more adequate. I am just an old white 72 year old guy from USA, and I myself am designing to build an Ebike now, while going over, and over exactly what I need, from the gearing to how many watts I need. I want to get it right, because I will be spending money on it. At my age, the hills have been getting hard to take on my bicycle, so I need a motor to help me get around now. Great project! It's fun to come up with an idea and then realize it. I am sure you understand the issue you are having, it's the leverage of the power against the weight. If a larger rear sprocket is not available, you can implement an intermediate shaft and two chains. Connect the smallest available motor sprocket to the largest available sprocket on one side of the intermediate shaft, then place another smallest sprocket on the other side of the intermediate shaft and connect it with the rear largest available rear wheel shaft. Good luck! Don't despair and don't give up! There is always a solution to any issue!

@@a.c.c.whizzymechchatronica5811Of course you are correct. It's either add more power, at least 500cc motor or more, or reduce the weight of the car as much as possible. The current motor with a different motor to wheel ratio would work, but the car would be too slow. Good luck!

I love to see people working with what the have! I envy the creativity! Like some others are saying as well: I would suggest an adjustment on the gear ratio. Either larger in back or smaller on the engine. I’m aware that sourcing these parts may not be as easy as we think. But if you can, that’s also what I would suggest. Definitely don’t worry about the engine size. People have put bike engines in 1 ton cars before. And they work well. Just not a high top speed. You got it!

Your problem is not engine power, it is gear ratio. You need a much bigger sprocket on your drive wheel.

@@a.c.c.whizzymechchatronica5811 If you suspect weight being an issue(and honestly either way) try to remove as much weight as possible. Even things that might be necessary in the end. But just as a test to see if the drive train system works well. Then you can add parts back to finish it up but leaving the heavy stuff aside. It’s possible a transmission is required at such weights. Which I’m unsure if you have one or not. If you do I would also make sure the transmission is functioning as well. And not stuck in a high gear which could and would cause stalling if that is the case

For the shorter gear ratio would be better! but the carburetion seems much too rich, see if the choke flap has not remained blocked? or put a smaller nozzle! Well done and good luck!

Hi my friend: Please don't despair. Just take a step back for a day or two. Does the motor seem to have power and rev up as it should when in neutral? Could you post some good shots of the clutch and final drive? If the motor has the proper tune and works as expected in neutral, I suggest adding a jackshaft as others have suggested before switching engines. Also, perhaps try with the turbo removed to see if that is adding a restriction. We are all here for you. Godspeed.

From the look, you've a lot of weight, first check Engine horsepower to know load capacity vs actual load, secondly try reducing the weight, streamlining structure to reduce drag and thirdly to overcome force of initial, you need more torque that's your gearing ratio for first gear...... Try these and you will have ur craft running..... Wish you success

So many people are concerned with the gear ratio and I can see why, but from my inference it genuinely sounds like a fuel-starvation issue. Starts and idles well and it does not JUST pop and spit, it also has trouble recovering from the initial clutch application. Seems to me a carburetor, fuel pressure, or overall fuel delivery issue is hindering you from starting in what is a sub-optimal gear, but not one that is impossible to use.

When you fail ,you learn,keep going don't quit

Not that I am happy about your current situation, but setbacks like this can be avoidable if you had listen to my advice. Creativity alone doesn't work, you need technical schooling. I don't mean you have to go to school, but you have to read to understand basic mechanical concepts. Here's what it is; The engine you have produces roughly a meager 7.5hp and 9Nm of torque. After the whole speed reduction from crankshaft to the final drive sprocket, you might have something like 60Nm of torque in gear 1. From distant, i can roughly estimate the weight of your car to be around 500kg give or take. The engine that was formerly used to power a bike that weighed less than 250kg+ rider and 2 passengers. If you want to verify what I am saying, start the car put it in gear 1 but don't release the clutch. Then ask someone to push you. Once the car is in motion, you can then press the throttle high and then release the clutch. You will see that the car will continue moving for sometime. Just try this. So this is your first lesson. Go and read about gear ratio, speed reduction, torque, mechanical power and traction. Talent alone won't make Africa great, we need education to help amplify it. Well done so far, you've come a long way.

I think with 3 wheelers in your combination all drive is to one rear wheel if you had two rear wheels at back and split differential axel power would then be split between two rear wheels. Just my opinion.
