@@gregabott5583 The simple fact is, Anna's opponent is a GM, and never in a million years would he be expected to loose, no disrespect to Anna (and she agrees). With that, he clearly had a lot of headroom to play with... allowing him to give some very nice AAA advertisement to Anna's 'The Cow', something that had never been seen in a classic chess tournament. --> He was not disrespectful, quite the opposite, obviously. I think it's a massive compliment 😊 grand masters are studying your work that's a really good sign

She was playing the game as he was playing the player.
Your mom was hilarious on stream commenting on the cow opening. How hard was it for you not to smile from ear to ear?
i have a remark when the anna cramling match is broadcast live, because when it is broadcast there are not two boards on the screen, one for analyzing possible moves, what pia is doing, and the other for displaying the current position, so the viewer knows the current position and can think for himself what could be played
@jaywinner328
2 ай бұрын
It would take up some screen space but also be very useful. Pia likes to go down lots of lines, which is great, but the current position does get lost.
Lol I saw it live. I knew after e3 was played that it was coming lol
Love the aggressive play against someone rated 400+
Thank you Anna, for taking us along on this tournament. The videos are great, any wins are but a bonus. Would like to see some more of the city.
It's so funny that Anna says the cow opening is so good because opponent often becomes too aggressive and overextend, so that the cow can strike later, and that's exactly what happened. Anna was being so tactical and aggressive so that the cow won in the end lol.
Wow - it is so interesting to see this perspective and how you think through different options and anticipate the chain of moves that would follow.
Good luck Anna! ❤ Thank your mom for us, her commentary is so enjoyable.
Thx. Hikaru just made a video about this game. The Cow opening can't get any higher up in the system. Anna is now officially a living legend. 😀 Peace.
This is SO AMAZING 👏 congrats Anna Im filled with joy for your achievement 🙌
I'm new to chess and just found your channel. Love the videos!
It was bitter sweet. For future reference, in the opening against the Cow, a strong Queen early is a way to break up the pattern, in conjunction with a central pawn. However, in that case, the Cow player can use knights to try to kick away a queen. Be wary of a scholar's mate. The Cow player should use his queen defensively early against an opposing aggressive queen, too..
So sorry for your getting tripped up, dear AC. Really kool though that your Cow Opening saw it's first high level debut. Better luck from here forward I pray🙏
Your tenacity as a chess player is amazing! It’s always a pleasure to watch your moves and hear your analysis and thoughts
Anna, you concentrated every move I saw. You knew you had to do that since your opponent, GM Platon has a very high rating, and this took up the time on the clock. You did not waiver and focused the entire time on every move. The aggressive style you had to try at the end was due to the time factor. You played a good game against, "The Cow," and you have nothing to be ashamed of in this game. The game was so good that even GM Hikaru Nakamura made a video on this, and liked this game!
Thank you for the dedication shown by such prompt appearance of the recap video.
Congratulations Anna! Good luck with the rest of the tournament!

What you do for chess is unmatched. This should be inspiring to the entire chess community ❤. I'm no chess player at all but do enjoy these.
Honestly respect to the GM cause he knew he would win so he at least gave Anna some content
So proud of you.
the dude is a legend for doing this. epic levels of respect from him
Stockfish evaluates your position as better when you pushed the white king's knight back to f1 with your h pawn on move 6, and it has you up by 1.19 if you had played e5-e4 on move 7.
It’s an advantage to use the cow opening against Anna. Every time this happens she gets flustered. Also she has not seriously worked on theory to fight it. This opening she created is her own Achilles heel.
Many Congratz to Anna and the Cow opening...!!

Now that is showing a female respect, a male GM playing a female opening. I hope he realizes that all mature cows are female. All mature males are bulls. Young cattle that are female are called heifers and young males are called bullocks or oxen. Young castrated males are called steer. So I think Anna did a remarkable job calling the her opening “The Cow Opening!”
You counter the cow with the hippo. Move up all your pawns. Don't sting Ferdinand.
Opponent be like: "I have studied your work extensively"
Anna, I always enjoy the detail of your match recaps. On the game with GM Platon, I guess a strength of the cow is because it's such a slow opening that most of his pieces were still in the back to defend when you tried your attacks. Pia mentioned several times if only your King was on a dark square to avoid that white bishop of his. Hats off to you opponent for playing the full cow and not just a few of the opening moves. Good luck on your remaining matches! (By the way, beautiful video recap with you and all the chess boards and tables behind you).
I love cow-opening, Its really astonishing, cause GM played cow-opening!!! All the very best for your next Battle, Princess Anna!
3:46 "I did not expect the 15th of March to be the day where this would happen." As they say "Beware the Ides of March."

Really enjoyed watching this one Anna!
Btw another bit here. Always develop a counter defence to any offensive weapon you develop before you use your new weapon. American military only started to use stealth equipment after they figured out how to defeat it. Try Story.
The opponent knows that Anna is classically trained and well versed in theory, so using the cow opening actually is kind of genius move actually. By moving it away from prepared openings, you lead the opponent down the "dark forest", a place where they aren't well prepared and must rely on instinct. The cow is really good at that because it is so far off regular bases there is no transpositions or just game experience. Which is why Anna can do it to other players when she plays it and wins, unfortunately the tables were turned on her.
ROTFLs at 5:49 when Anna says (cow opening) "Theory" with her fingers simulating quotation marks. OMG, so funny. Anna, your humor is adorable. 🤣
A nice moment for sentimentality, but then the realisation that she has to dismantle the cow. Bad luck on this round Anna, I look forward to the next.

The Queen Anna. Like for a sword, comrade pawn
Anna, if I may presume to observe, you were one move short in the preparation of your winning attack. Either you should have got the a6 knight to c7, or avoided putting the pawn on c6 at the beginning. Subsequently, after castling, you should have allocated a move to getting the king to b8. My father always taught me to be wary of the premature attack. It was a great and exciting game which I fully enjoyed.
Nicely narrated! You make chess exciting!
