He planned to be a writer and only appear in the Diversity Day episode. An NBC executive saw him in that episode, said “i like that red head” and from then on Toby was a character. Paul Lieberstein hates acting, and whenever he wrote an episode he wouldn’t write lines for himself. He took over for the show late in season 4, and wrote himself out of the show for a few episode when he moves to Costa Rica.

Toby has no one to blame but himself. He does a perfect job of being that one guy who has a crush on a girl but goes years without ever mustering up the courage to tell her. Then as time goes on he actually gets more weird and awkward around her....thus ensuring there's never going to be any relationship between the two of them. Been there myself and seen it happen to others. Gotta go for it right away..... at least even if she's not into you, you'll know and can move on and not be so weird around her lol. Or waste time and energy trying to win her affection

Brainbuster I haven’t watched all seasons of the office yet so now I’m afraid of what’s to come

The whole Toby character line is an amazing drama itself if you isolate his episodes, he has so much going on and left barely said, his crush for Pam, him potentially being the Scranton Strangler, his kind of sociopathy. in most of each single episodes you'd rather feel sorry for him but looking on a bigger picture it feels like he's the most responsible person for the live he has. kudos to the writers and the actor

Toby spending so much money to win Pam the duck was honestly so sweet ❤

@@kristiwilbanks794 she changed as a person when she started breaking out of her fear of being happy. it wasn't all owed to Jim, it's mostly owed to her own character development involving breaking up with Roy and reentering the dating scene, her breakthrough during the lake rec episode where she does the coal walk and then announces to everyone how she's been feeling, pursuing personal interests such as art and school, all the little scenes where she starts speaking up and standing up for herself, and other examples of her own self improvement. it fosters self-esteem and in turn affects the way we present ourselves to outside observers, i.e. personality (less shy and submissive, more equal and free-flowing), body language (less quiet uncertainty and eye aversion, more confident in interacting with others), and wardrobe changes (less frumpy, depressed appearance, more stylish outfits and smooth, attractive hairstyles).
