I cry every single time I hear this song. I am white but raising black sons and I just pray for a better place for them to grow and be safe. This year has changed me pretty profoundly. I admittedly was blissfully raising my kids without a ton of emphasis put on race but I feel an awakening and know I was wrong. I appreciate the men and women willing to help people like me try to understand what my kids and all black people face every day. This is so moving, my heart hurts.

Tobe had instantly became my favorite artist when I first heard him freestyle a few years ago. Since then, this man has been a testament to what loving the Lord Jesus and what standing up for righteousness looks like. Love his artistry, his testimony and everything he does. Man deserves every choice blessing

Wow! The simplicity of the set, the choreography, and the superimposition of the surreal images at the end, juxtaposed behind black people in white, was iconic artistic genius. And the ethereal repetition of the line ... “I hope you make it home” has layers of meaning ... to mothers worrying about black kids making it home from the corner store ... to a wife hoping her husband makes it’s home after working late ... to families hoping their loved ones make it home from the hospital run by a white supremacist system who sees more value in selling organs from dead, young black people , who enter their emergency rooms, than the value of saving a young black person’s life. The hook is so subtle, simple, memorable and haunting, it grabs you the very first time you hear it. And the riffs at the end, ripple thru the soul. It’s the kind of song and video that makes artists contemplate how they can replicate a similar song that would be equally as moving and memorable using the law of least effort so effortlessly laid out in this music video.

Everything about this is beautiful...especially when David Michael Wyatt sings "I hope you make it home."😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Why havent blacks ever been able to create a free nation? Is slavery genetic in blacks?

I felt this so much. Can’t fully describe how this made me feel, but tears are in my eyes😭

My mom died October 23rd 2020 . May she rest in peace 😢💓🌹

PlasmaBurns yeah, you would think that lessons would be learned that colonizers mean no one good but themselves. They just there to take the resources and claim land as their own when they have no reason to be there but to rob the people. But there are some free, Mozambique is one, Ghana, and others.

I can’t stand wearing black at funerals I always say it’s too depressing when life’s to be a celebration! I want my service to be lit turn tf up cry tears of joy idc if I was slaughtered don’t do that mourning stuck with long depressing music and shit just take a shot of whiskey or whatever u need & get loose with it! Whoever wears black I’m stalking them every morning face 2 face or knocking they cup of coffee off table disconnecting car battery etc😂

I grew up Pentecostal and we never wore black to funerals. We just wore white because it was a symbol that the person lived a holy life and walked with Jesus and now are at His side. I always thought it was a wonderful thing to see all of the congregation in gleaming white. It always was and is so beautiful to see.

Okay I just now discovered this song while watching the TV show Black Lightning🤯 It was played when the mother is arrested and is being processed into jail and humiliated by the guard when she had to strip and get a cavity search!
