My son has pipe tobacco that was on Henry Ford’s desk when he passed away.
I got the 4th earl of loveless’s cigar collection from the 70’s
I've been curing/fermenting this years harvest in totes at 70% humidity using a bit of hydrogen peroxide with my sponge in a bowl....when fermentation is done I will drop the humidity to 60% indefinitely!!!!!! Good luck !!!!
I have no intention of smoking cigarettes anytime soon, but I do love cigars and pipe.
Question... What about storing cigarettes after rolling them? Is it better to store the tobacco or to roll it up into cigarettes and storing the cigarettes?

The tar and nicotine will leech into the paper. Also papers have their own taste that can impart into the tobacco changing the taste which could damage the flavor, smell, and enjoyment of your supply. Personally, I don't smoke cigarettes (quit em 12 years ago) just pipes, but I'd rather have a quality cure. You're gonna roll em into cigarettes now or later so it's up to you my friend Hope this helps
In answer to the fridge question.. I've always heard it's not a good idea

you'd want it as well sealed as possible, but tobacco keeps just fine at room temp, freezer is definitely a no no
After messing up so many cigs my tobacco ends up dry and looks like sand because it's so dry what do I do about it can I even or is all that tobacco gone

Would vaccum sealing in a mason jar help store the tobacco.

Always stored cigarettes in the freezer. Anxious to hear if pipe/cigarette tobacco is any different

i wouldn't, tobacco keeps well at room temp, but if you did want to though id double seal it, like a bag in a mason jar. the fridge just saps the moisture out

Only put in fridge if you want it really dry and for it to loose it's flavour
