Even after realizing that only by giving our hearts to God we can be truly fulfilled, we're still being dragged constantly away by the lures of this world and the occasional frustrations of life. Thank you for the consistent and regular spiritual reminders Bishop, that only by putting God first and foremost we are truly alive.

Thank you Bishop Barton for being you. Your words help bring the direction and focus to the Lord's message. God bless you and all. I needed this, especially today. Yesterday I had the opportunity to be like Jesus and completely to the right thing and be truly and fully kind to someone. Yes, I did help, but what I realized afterward, the thru my own selfishness, I failed to completely follow thru the way I should have. And only afterward did I realize I missed the opportunity to please the Lord by being the person he would have preferred me to be. Yes, I was kind, but nowhere near what could have been. Please forgive me lord.

This sermon couldnt come at a better time. I have committed a sin which i know very well stem from my overt love and adoration toward my boyfriend. This sermon is a very strong reminder in a time when i feel the most unfit to stand in front of The Lord. Even praying these days make me cringe. It is really hard to connect with Him when my heart is divided and untrue. I am trying to pray and hope for strenght and salvation.

Pray! Pray from the heart! Trust in Him! And don't worry!! He loves you in a way incomprehensible to all of us!! Place your open heart before Christ on the Cross. Once you do, allow his mercy to penetrate your whole being. Be patient with him as he is with you!! I'll pray for you!! ❤✝️

Go to reconciliation and be restored to the state of grace. Remember that love at its root is to will the good for the other. True love seeks to keep the beloved far away from sin and idolatry.

@@annedouglas5308 I don't want to assume or read between lines. But some people dudes and gals. At times feel so in love that they made things they know they shouldn't. Things in many cases are contrary to the word of God all because of this love to the other person. I'm saying that because I know I have failed in similar ways.

Love of the Lord our God is the purest love, not dependant on wordly goods, not transitory, not up and down as suits our fancy but steadfast, revered anf full of the purest unchanging love, love of God is eternal, everlasting, it is an unending search and fulfillment.

Thus saith the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will send spirit into you, and you shall live.And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to grow over you, and will cover you with skin: and I will give you spirit and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.» Ezekiel 37.

Bishop's Barron's comments remind me of this very moving statement from Vatican II: "All the faithful of Christ are invited to strive for the holiness and perfection of their own proper state. Indeed they have an obligation to so strive. Let all then have care that they guide aright their own deepest sentiments of soul. Let neither the use of the things of this world nor attachment to riches, which is against the spirit of evangelical poverty, hinder them in their quest for perfect love. " (Article 42, Lumen Gentium)
