Hi! My Mom was a decoy on an episode of To Tell The Truth in 1959. She was pretending to be either a Korean stewardess or a Japanese female pilot. She has passed away now but I am trying to find it now for my Dad. Because after he saw this episode he met my mother and they were married months later for 54 years. Would love to be able to find that episode for him.

I'm always delighted when relatives of contestants get to see shows they've not been able to. I expect to be resuming regular posts to this channel before the end of the month, but I don't know exactly when yet. In the meantime, I'll do my best to at least upload this episode for you. The air date is Jan 6, 1959. I'll come back here and add another comment to let you know when the video is posted.

This is the second episode I’ve watched with Lloyd Bridges on the panel and I’m beginning to question the man’s intelligence. In the Mt Everest show he asked the contestants how it would help a climber if he had no toes (!). In this episode, he shows his palm and asks if it’s going to rain next week! He might have been a star, but I think he was a bit of a dim bulb.

I had guessed Sir Hilary at the start, based off his physique. But, no.1 threw me when he didn’t flinch about the Sherpa’s name and knowing the name of the Teton. Afterwards I looked it up and it is called a “Piton”. Had I known this I would have eliminated him. No. 2 did not look like he could have climbed stairs without stopping after the 3rd floor.
