I had all my nails pinched, at a show, by a pretty “famous” nail tech & she wanted a man to show nails on.... long story short, I lost 4 of my nails because they had to be removed by a doctor, they lifted so badly & hurt so much that they were turning purple/black. Worst part was, I wasn’t the only one.

I watched your 80s video and it brought back so many memories..lol the tabs back then lol.. I personally dont like or use the pinchers.. I do it just like you. The tabs today make this process so much easier without damaging the nails. Thank you for making this video, so all new and older nail techs have a choice. Holy crap, I didn't know you could pinch someone's NATURAL nail off their nail bed! When I see people do it in videos it looks like its just snug but not overly tight and I've never had anyone do it in a salon. I have naturally flat nails so maybe that's why they haven't ever done it? I do my own nails now and I get a pinched look with forms.

Thank you so much for teaching so well. I am learning to do builds while watching your videos. I was so struggling with forms until I watched your video explaining forms. Your 30 years of experience is helping this self taught "not yet a nail tech" develop better skills. Some of these skills come naturally from being a trained dental technician. My specialty was building crowns and bridges , using porcelain powder and liquid in the same method as building acrylic nails. Also some filing and sculpting with hand piece . You would be amazed to see what goes into building one tooth. Next step is to acquire some type of poly gel , rather than doing builds with my gel nail polish. Much appreciation for camera man as well.

My natural nails (which I do myself) have a strong c curve. I've always wanted the flatter look! TFS ♥️

Hey suzie. I absolutely adore u and your hubbs!! You have inspired me to start doing acrylic and gel nails at home with the kits u have reviewed. Im still a beginner so I was wondering if u could give me any tips or tricks how to completely round my nail tips?!

I'm glad to run across this. I dont personally like to pinch. I suppose it's because, though like the look, on me myself, it makes my nails hurt. I've always tried to manipulate my forms in various ways (usually using part of another form on the bottom for extra surface. I was always afraid I would do damage because of the pain I had.

I always wondered about how flare nails were done, as the Long Island Medium used to wear. I never cared for the look, but wondered how they did it. Thanks!

That was the worse part about getting sculpted nails when I was getting them done. That is not a pain I can forget. I swear she pinched the soul out of my nails

I love this. I also found that if I DON"T use that circular tab underneath(that 'supposed' to add stability), I can get a better curve for my nail and they adhere more easily.
