I am a home diy nail lover/doer. I taught myself how to do my own hard gel nails by watching hours and hours of You Tube videos. Once I got good at hard gel I dove into poly gel. I did poly gel for about 1.5 years but my end goal was to eventually learn to use acrylic. Thank you so much for sharing your love and knowledge of nails. In April I received my first starter kit from Glam and Glits and started my acrylic journey. My first set took me 6 hours but you know what I had a blast and the end result was beautiful. I used forms instead of tips and I'm so glad I did! It wasn't perfect but I was overjoyed at what I had accomplished. I have now done 2 fills and I get better each time. I love your creativity and the way you share your passion with the world. I know it's just nails but for this single mom of 2 little boys it has given me so much joy and confidence. I get compliments on my nails all the time and it warms my heart when my boys tell people that their mom does her own nails and they love to help me pick out my next design or color!

So your videos, teaching things that I would learn in cosmetology school is the only way I can learn. So thank you for sharing your knowledge, for free, here for people like me, who are very passionate about this, but I'm a single mom and there's no assistance programs where I live so I currently have no chance of going through school. So I can't do it professionally, but I can still do it as a hobby, and thanks to you, I can do it well!!

Your so right about the use of acetone Suzie, it can be really confusing to new techs as most schools for nail training teach not to use any acetone on brushes, I’ve used acetone to clean my brushes I use for acrylic nails for 25yrs with no issues at all I’ve actually got brushes I bought from the school I was trained with that are 25yrs old they look better than the new brushes I’ve bought in the last few years, I’m so glad your showing the proof that a little acetone soak works I believe it’s the best way to clean the brush, thank you for sharing this video Suzie your a amazing very skilled nail tech, always a pleasure visiting your channel👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🥰🥰🥰

I frown upon double dipping. Definitely adding monomer to that list! Have been working with dip powders for a bit and have done a little with polygel. Thanks to you, Suzie, I'm gaining enough instruction to feel comfortable with trying acrylic again. (Bought a cheap kit WAY back in the early 80's. Epic fail.) I'll be purchasing your merchandise soon!

When I first started doing nails I bought a little cheapie brush from Amazon and I remember you saying to clean the brush this way but always condition with monomer afterward. Years later that l’il cheapie brush is still kicking and in my collection. Acetone is fine! Thanks Suzie!

Aha! I was wondering why I was having lifting problems even though I thought I was prepping the nail perfectly. It's because of puting too much primer on! I also didn't know you're not supposed to dip your brush back into the monomer after you apply the bead onto the nail. It does seem like it helps, but apparently it doesn't lol. Thank you so much Suzie!! That helps sooooo much!! Stay safe you guy's! ♥️

I use the soap trick, I have used both dish soap, brush soap and even a mild baby soap, and they all work fine, rolling the brush makes it sharp again. But if it is really bent out of shape, I find that just a tiny touch of hair gel before rolling/shaping, will help the tip get its shape back. I then let it dry with either soap on or the hair gel. (I use this on my aquarelle brushes as well). And when I am picking it up to use it again, I first rinse out the dry gel or soap, and roll it. Much easier to get it sharp after this "reforming" actions. Hope this helps.

I wondered about the dried acrylic in the bristles. I was told not to soak or use acetone on the bristles and I have ruined brushes based on that information. Thank you for giving this information. This will save me brushes now.

Ms Susie is right! I clean my brushes with acetone and condition with monomer afterwards and my brushes are just fine. I only do it when I have a dry clump of acrylic stuck in the brush.
