See! Size DOES matter lol. But in all seriousness, I also love a size 8 oval. It’s just so much easier to move and sculpt. I love how informative all your videos are. When clients tell me they want to get into nails I always tell them to start watching your videos.

This isn't directly related to this video, but you inspired me to stop biting my nails! I've done it all my life but I finally applied fake nails to try and help me kick the habit. I love your channel!

Same. I got my first set trying to stop myself from biting my nails lol
I'm a baby nail tech. Not yet a year licensed. I love your videos! I'm currently using a #14 crimped and I love it. But I feel sometimes with different clients I may need a smaller size. Thank you so much for all your content and your warm and welcoming personality!
Omg thank you ! For the information, for gel is different brushes , and how you can choose the brushes for gel? Love your videos 😍😍😍😍
The biggest I’ll use is a 12 brush. And that’s on myself because my nails are 2” long from cuticle to tip. The bigger the brush the more likely you will touch the client’s skin and that is a BIG NO NO! And like Suzie I’ve been doing nails since the late 80’s XOX Luna 💅🏻💅🏻

Elizabeth Frantes No I haven’t, I do have a nail IG:fairyglitternails 😊
So I just started back doing my nails since COVID, and I bought four size 14 brushes. 🤣🤣😩 Now I have to go back and buy some 8's because that bead is out of control, and I can't see a thing.🤦🏽♀️ My prior knowledge of size matters clouded my judgment. Thanks Suzie. 😊

@Lairde Scotte I used to use small brushes when I first started doing my nails, & I hated them. I just bought a 6, 8, and 10. I think those will be the perfect sizes to control the monomer to powder ratio. I can't wait to try them out. I also didn't know I could use the brushes from craft stores. Thanks for the info, and Happy Late Memorial Day to you too. ❤❤
I love your brush. As a diy-er I find it easy to move the product around and get in tight spots. And the brush is so pretty
I love learning from you, I am 30 and you have been a nail artist my whole life!
I've been learning Nails myself at home since mid last year (majority of what I've learnt has been by you!). When I got into Acrylic, I bought a size 12 Round brush....! But used it to get used to product ratios. I now use an Oval 8 pinched and I WISH I started with it initially!! So much easier! I can't wait to buy your brushes too ^.^ thank you for all your knowledge, I've learnt so much from you and I couldn't be more thankful :) xx
You have been so inspirational to me. I have been doing nails now for a month and a half and having a blast!
Hi Suzie! Great tip. Wish I'd seen it 20 yrs ago😂 I use 20 and 22 size brush and learned the hard way. Thank you for all you do.😘😘
Suzie, A big Thank u from Morocco, always wanted a video like this one. And finally.... thanks to most fancy nail instructor of KZread . Love ure style!
I currently use a 16 oval and I cut off the tip...I LOVE it!!! I've been doing nails 24yrs. I also use the ONE ball method for full sets. It takes practice but once you nail it...its super quick. 💕
BEST NAIL ADVICE VIDEOS ON THE WEB, INCREDIBLY HELPFUL!
I've been wondering about different brush sizes. It feels like as soon as a question pops in my mind, you make the video to answer it thoroughly! :) I've found that Oval 8 brushes are the best for my learning, and I'm really loving your brush!
Thank you for sharing this. I just keep learning more and more from you. Thank you again for all your videos.
Oh yes! I needed this! ❤️
I just came across your channel and it’s been so helpful🥰🥰🥰!! Such a great teacher, I’m starting to do my own nails due to quarantine and so happy I found you.
I thought it was about the size of the nail. I have children size hands. Basically your pinkie is the size of my index finger. Sz 3 ring if it helps to know. I have been learning so much. Thank you for taking time and teach basic and expert info. I feel like I may be able to do my first set. I am going to practice, though using a drug store brand until I get the hang of it.
This was so well explained, thank you Suzie x
Great info. I've used many different sizes over my 30 yr career. I perfer a # 12. Thx Susie.
I love your videos. Thank you so much. I am learning so much from you. I use a size 6 brush as I am starting with scultping but I dipped before.
Thanks for the demo and explanation. I've heard that the flat brush is superior for beginners, like me due to the fact that you can get close to the cuticle area without touching the skin. Do you have a video with a demo for flat brushes?
LOL omg. As someone who's never worn acrylic but loves your videos, I already thought the 8 was huge! I didn't realize that it was on the small end 😂😭 What a crazy world nail artists live in.
I bought an oval 8 to start on. I'll whip out the Big Kahuna later when I learn more or had more practice. Thanks for the vid!💛💅
Woawwwww, thank you so much ma'am. My super mentor. Everything I know about acrylic gel is from your channel. You inspire me a lot and I keep learning from you. Thanks for letting me know about the different brushes. Am Melanie from Cameroon.
All your videos are so awesome and educating, I love your channel! 😍❤️
Yup I been using size 8 for my backfills and I love it. I have complete control of the acrylic rather then using my size 10.
Thanks Suzie....always love your content!
Thanks for doing that informative segment. I'm a beginner & that made a lot of sense. Thanks again
As an avid nail enthusiast, I love your videos. I’m trying to get my at home polygel game tight. Application is good, it’s the shaping I’m struggling with. I have your shaping video on save will keep watching. Thanks for all your help!
Beginning to do my own nails and you just helped so much
Hello Susie hope & pray you guys are doing well! I use a size 8 - 10 being l groomed crimped brush, but I did use a square size 6 to 8 when I started up until about a year ago, it was easier to learn with. Thanks for the video very informative as always!
Thank you Suzi, this is very informative for a beginner like myself. I love watching your tutorials including Tabaytha Scott's Evie's and Femi beauty. I've always wanted to start with the acrylic brush number 8. Thanks again. Regards Ola
Thank you for all the great advice
I use an 8 oval and i LOVE it! I never tried any other sizes actually, but I'm willing to try soon to explore more😁

Great video learnt some great tips. Thankyou Suzie.
I have seen so many using the large brushes, I brought a 12 and was lost. I am more comfortable using a 8 or a 10. Thanks for this video.

Omg I'm early 🥰🥰. Thanks for another great one. I love the 8 or 10 round. For me it just picks up the pearls better.🤗🥰😇
Omg I needed this so bad! I just ordered a Pana brush crimped size 8 I am not sure if it’s what I need but I need something to a beginner I’m so used to doing gel and want to start using acrylic. THANK YOU 🙏🏽 ❤️
I like a flat gel.brush to use for acrylic they used on my nail course... i will never go back . I love it my liquid to powder ratio is better.
What about the large square brushes used in Asian nail salons? I'd like one of those!
Thank you. I do my own nails. And I have this problem. . So I will try with a smaller brush
Thank you!
I use an oval #8, but my hands and nails are small. My next brush will be a #6. Thank you for all your wonderful info!
Thanks! I would love this info on hard gel.
This video is really amazing thank you for sharing this video
Thx u so much suzie! 👍😁
hey! i really want to become a nail artist/cosmetologist and i just found you and i think these videos are really going to be helpful. im hoping to start doing acrylic soon, so wish me luck!!
Great lesson by Suzie 👏👏💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋🌷❤🌷❤🌷
I had a nail tech that used a size 18 on ALL his clients, he always had a great powder to liquid ratio regardless of nail length! He was amazing to watch work but I personally I can't use anything bigger than an 8, I usually like a 6 though as I have slim fingers and don't usually have very long nails.
They turned out lovely!! I've been watching a Video where Nail Tacs where making bling gel ring's really nice...
Thank you so much
extremely informative. ty!
'Thank You' I have messed up so many brushes because I have tried to work with the incorrect size. Now I can make the correct purchases.
Finally im earlly i luv your videos ❤❤💞💞💞
I think I am going to purchase your kit. I would love to relearn with your products. You lessons are so good and your a fab teacher.

Great video!!!!
Thank you
thank you as always suzie! would you recommend a square flat brush when applying gel from a pot/jar? or is using an oval brush useful?
Can you make a video all about pinching? I know there are rods, clips that resemble chip clips and a clamping tool. Can you compare them? Can you give almond or rounded nails a c curve?
Suzie I'd love to see a dip powder video using gel liquids instead of the traditional dip liquids! I know a lot of people who switched due to reactions to the dip liquids. I switched not too long ago, but would LOVE some tips from you. xoxo
I learned a lot from you!miss suzie thank you!if there is anything i want to learn or to know i go direct to your youtube channel😍.
Oh thanks for your video
Great video
I’ve been learning on a size 8 and have been doing pretty good with it. I had been using a smaller size (not sure what size it was) but I’m liking the size 8 a lot better. I don’t think I ever want to use a larger size as I’m happy with an 8.
I use 16-20 cause its best for the one ball method. The small brushes feel like it takes more time to do. Plus if I need a small bead I just the corner of my crimped brush.
What about Gel, I only do Gel, what's best for Gel, yes Oval is what I used to use 20 30 years ago for acrylic! Thank you love your show ❤
I love you guys 😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Wow nice video, I have learned something new :)
I completely agree, that bigger is not better for most nail techs, I'd never go up as far as a size 24. I take my hat off to those who can control those giant beads of acrylic. The biggest brush I use for my acrylic is a size oval 10 but usually I'll use and oval 8 as that's the brush size I learnt with
Ok, I bought your brush/file combo and your acrylic set. I haven’t done acrylic nails ever! LoL I’m about to learn! I may need to buy a better curing lamp than the one I have. Mine is for gel nail polish. Any suggestions that aren’t too expensive? Oh and an e-file? I’ve seen you use a couple which one do you recommend? I have used gel polish over my natural nails and I have used it over nail tips to create length. Love your videos!
I noticed you left the brush #24 in a twitch longer than the #8. That is also a factor in bead size. Thanks for the info.
I would love to know we're you got your monimer jar from I love how it sits at the top then you can clean out the left over with a paper towel
Hi Suzie, Love your videos! Learning so much. Hi from Perth Australia. Can your brush be used with polygel products too? X
Su I think I mentioned these Sikning gorgeous brush company that make kolinsky brushes by hand 😙They train for YEARS! And most of the workers are in Britain and have worked they’re for 25yrs average! Series 7 brand & WindsorNewton!🤪🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
hay there my lovely, wow your channel is awesome, I NEED these nails and the best tips for sure........wow your nails are AMAZING.....not found a nail channel before so am interested in yours
Suzie, may I ask how old were you, when you got into the nail business and how was it back then? Like the products etc? Were there also tips or forms? I would love, if you would share it ❤️
I wear my nails really long most of the time so I used an 18 to cap with but my 8 or 10 for the design
Where did you get the dappen dish from? I appreciate how useful it is. Also, your voice is so calming.
I have your brush, ugly duckling, CND, and Crystal Nails brushes. My favorite are yours and ugly ducklings.
Bought a size 8 first time for me couldn't pick up a bead 😢 I will keep practicing
Where did your acrylic bottle come from???? I love it
Can you do this for polygel and builder gel?
The #8 and # 10 are The best💅💅💅
I need to buy more brushes I only have 1
Hi Suzie. You mentioned allergies developing. Does that mean we should change the product we're using if we start reacting to it? What should you do if your skin breaks out everytime ? Is it just a matter of not getting any on your skin, or is it the product that's a problem?
Suzie!!! I just started doing acrilics. Is it normal that is warm on your nail bed? Untill it hardens it feels like it's burning :/ Love your videos!! Love from Spain!!
Do you have a gel overlay of natural nail video
Is there anything that you can do to help people with contact dermatitis due to the fluidity the cuticle? I have a client that says her hand itch like crazy for a few days after getting her nails done. I've been trying my best to keep it off her skin since she's started coming to me but it does prove difficult.
I feel like I’d love square 😂 I always get my brushes crimped and it’s pretty much square. I love oval too.
Suzie what Colors do you have on love both those colours I just need to know haha
Thanks for this video. Iv been looking for a video that tells what brush is best to lay acrylic on the toenails. Can’t find one anywhere. Can someone help me please.?
I first tried on the oval 8 and hated it. Got a flat (not really an oval and not really square) 10 and i did so much better.
Madam thanks for teaching us but how and where to get them I really failed to find. Thanks God bless you.
