Recorded this a while ago for a planned video about the pistol which I never got around to finish. I will say this: While the weapon was definitely weak, I think it could have had a presence in the game with some tweaks. It makes sense that it was cut from the arsenal of weapons in Doom Eternal, and I agree that it probably wouldn't work as a "normal" weapon, however, I think it could have existed as a temporary one. For example, the player could have started off the campaign (or classic mode) with a pistol and used it until they would have found the Heavy Cannon which then could've simply replaced the pistol on the weapon selection in a similar way to how Laser Cutter in Wolfenstein: The New Order is a weaker version of Laserkraftwerk and gets completely replaced with it once player obtains the superior weapon. Regardless, it was fun to mess around with it even in the wimpy state that it was in.

The Doom Slayer should have a Duel-Wielding pistol to make him look Badass and intimidating.

This thing does look really fun. I'm sad it was cut, it could've been a bonus weapon or something instead of just removed altogether
