Modern society in a nutshell... This is how so-called 'free', 'democratic' countries operate. Their politeness is just a veneer for their dishonesty and savagery. In many ways, this is even worse than openly authoritarian regimes because it includes gaslighting and duplicity along with thinly veiled tyranny. Whenever I hear brainwashed people declaring proudly that they have freedom, while at the same time bemoaning other nations for being authoritarian I throw up in my mouth a little. They're all as bad as each other. It's fifty shades of corporatism.

Standing at six feet, nine inches (206 cm) tall, Worthy is the tallest-ever Klingon seen onscreen. Its because she is CMO that can't be in charge. Beverly's rank is earned (unlike Polaski whose rank is honoree) but in this situation Data is senior command officer. Crusher does take command a few times most notably 'Descent Part II' where she outwits rouge Borg. But her first duty is as Medical officer. Same as Scotty letting Sulu take command when Kirk and Spock are away in later episodes and films because his first duty is the engine room.
