TNA Wrestling IMPACT Spike TV Debut - DEADLOCK Podcast Retro Review

Ойын-сауық

One of the biggest moves in pro wrestling history was when TNA Wrestling moved to Spike TV. This happened right after WWE Monday Night Raw left Spike TV to return to the USA Network. TNA Wrestling had never been on national television before so this was a gigantic step for them. The very first match is AJ Styles vs Roderick Strong. The fans voted on the TNA Wrestling website that the very first match on the debut episode was to feature AJ Styles. This really set the pace for the 60 minute adrenaline rush. One thing that TNA did a really good job was making the X-Division very important. One big match we get is Petey Williams vs Alex Shelley vs Chris Sabin. They let them go out and kill it. Raven was the NWA Champion, however there was controversy in Canada as Jeff Jarrett would beat Raven. This would lead to The King of The Mountain teaming up with AMW and Scott D’Amore for Planet Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett would celebrate his NWA Title victory until Team 3D made their debut for TNA Wrestling and cleaned house. Just as Jeff Jarrett looked like he was going to leave, Kevin Nash would show up and inflict punishment to Double J. What a way to start off the new era of TNA Wrestling.

Its hilarious to hear the trillion reason Jarret/TNA can come up with to explain how they JUST HAD to keep the NWA belt on Jarret, because... I mean he was the only start ever in pro-wrestling and no one could ever be made again!

The fucking 3 Live Kru conversation is both an underrated DEADLOCK moment and the most that I have ever thought about 3LK in my entire time on this planet. My view on 3LK could be summed up by Johnny with "Ron Killings is awesome, this group sucked".

About the news segment for Muhammad Hassan. I always feel bad for him since the 7/7 bombing in London killed his career since I think that undertaker getting attacked by masked men aired might of been on evening of just after the attack and the press was annoyed about it and HE GOT THE BLAME I got no clue how the hell the WWE did not get any blame since they just killed him off at the great American bash PPV. But like that Smackdown was tapped all they had to do was to edit it out and reshoot or something but no they dropped the ball with him. And I honestly feel like with his treatment was so uncalled for backstage since I think it was Eddie, Benoit, JBL and Kurt did not like him since he was green and did not know the business so he got hazed a lot by them

Something I think should be pointed out: Jarrett gets the NWA title from Raven for the Spike deal, but once he gives it Sting in 2006, he never wins a top NWA or TNA/Impact title again Also, I used to e-fed in high school and I remember this dude who used Raven in ostensibly an original character fed. In his bio he had these special matches he cooked up that were supposed to be depraved and vicious, one of them stating "the participants will be locked for 24 hours in a black room with no food or water before having a brutal deathmatch." I remember thinking that was the stupidest idea I ever read. Lo and behold, when I watched the first Monster's Ball match years ago...
