@@thercgarage1443 dude, I'm so friggin torn! My neighbor has a Nitro Revo, Nitro Slash, and Nitro Mad Crusher and just picked up a Nitro T-Maxx. I have an X-Maxx and want a 2nd rc for when it's down for maintenance and I am so so so so SO tempted to pick up a new T-Maxx 3.3!! But after calling around to multiple hobby shops and parts not being available AND the truck isn't kept in stock because of the demand (or lack thereof) for Nitro... I'm scared dude. In the late 90's, early 2000's I was like 15 and would have KILLED for 600 bucks to buy a T-Maxx!!! Now I can afford one, but I'm scared about the maintenance and parts. Like, they only have quarts of Nitro and don't carry 1 gallons. Like, at all. Uh. I'd love to hear your advice!!

@@wwjoshdew in my experience with my other tmaxx which is from the late 90’s I was still able to get parts easily as recent as a year ago and there is a lot of support form traxxas for the tmaxx because it was their best selling nitro truck for years and it’s one of the best selling nitro trucks of all time and there is a lot of support from other companies for it such as proline and rpm so I would say just get the tmaxx cuz they are durable, easy to drive, and in my experience parts have always been available and I think traxxas will still support it for many more years

It's hilarious that they still do the zip tie like they did when I was a kid. Nothings changed, they keep upgrading the revo but on the tmaxx it's still just a new remote and everything else is 100% old school 😂

William O'Leary Big Tmaxx fan I have an original 2.5 & 3.3 Just bought a brand new Tmaxx 3.3 on 3/7/21 Be careful when breaking it in I followed the directions to a T & on the 4th tank the slipper clutch pads disintegrated & the engine rev’d like hell until I could get to it. I immediately called Traxxas from the park & the Tech said the same thing happened to him on his new Tmaxx and Revo so I didn’t do anything wrong. He sent me a slipper clutch rebuild kit, glow plug, & the blue wire because it melted I haven’t installed it yet, but will soon I am worried about any engine damage, but he said they’ll make good on if it was. Just picked up a brand new HPI Savage X 4.6 from HRP directly. $30 off coupon on their site, free shipping, and!!! no sales tax because it ships from there home office in Utah. All in it only cost me $469.99 Can’t wait to break that Legend it also. Oh and of course finish breaking the Legendary Tmaxx in as well Enjoy, we’ll check out your vids

Happen also to me on a Revo 3.3 during brake in the engine just go on max RMP 2 times lucky me i was next to the truck and stop it directly.. my brake in its not done complety but from what i see its runing good . :) alrdy destroyed 1 upper left arm :)

Use the Adam Drake break in method for your nitro engine. Also try and get a Losi 3.4 carburetor and put it in the 3.3. The stock carburetor in the 3.3 is to small, it's the same that's in the 2.5 and with the 3.4 in there it runs better and easier to tune.

You may want to even call them and ask them what you may be able to do to prevent the same thing from happening And if they for some odd reason say they never heard of that happening there’s a recording of my Tech telling me it’s happened to two of his new vehicles (Tmaxx & Revo). But they probably won’t. Their customer service is great

So when you say the same thing happened to you do you mean the slipper clutch pads disintegrated? Because that’s what happened to me and because it was the 4th tank it was further away from me than 1-3 If that happen did Traxxas send you the parts for free? And if so after replacing the slipper clutch pads have you had any additional problems with the slipper clutch?

the 3.3s have ok power, just over a horsepower. do an sh, or force .18 carb, or os 11k carb. after break in replace the rod due to them being brittle and splitting.

It also happened to “GofastRc” dad’s tmaxx Obviously a recall should be done They should reinstall be slipper clutch and look to see if there is any engine damage which I think there was I won’t know until I get into it. The guy from Traxxas did say they’d make good on it if it was damaged

@davveist More torque, more speed, longer running times and less maintenance and requires alot less things to carry when going for a run... Used to spend alot of time and money on gas and glowplugs and adjusting things.... Now I just plug and play... The sound I can live with... A brutal electric motor sounds badass in its own right imo... and I leave X-maxx'es in the dust! :D

The Tmaxx was made in 1999 and had many reversions since then.

The traxxas brushless models so not come with batteries, so they can avoid fees and also because they have choices on which battery to use based on speed preference.

you might have already done it but do not beef up your bumpers they are supposed to flex and break so something else does and they are cheap

between revo 3.3 and t-maxx 3.3 what do you recommend? (my goal is bashing)

I’ve never had a revo so I could only speak for the Tmaxx and it’s a great basher they are very durable and they are a lot of fun and I have heard a lot of good things about the revo as well so which ever you go with I think you will be happy
