I’ve heard that in a lot of church’s if you’re in ministry and don’t tithe, you will be sat down or excused from ministry. Well I guess I’ll be sitting down then! Once I studied this for myself, I was free from that bondage! I then began to give based on how I was led to both generously and sacrificially.

God bless me and my Family, I use to tithe, I gave what my heart felt, end of story, I'm truly bless, I give freely from my heart, use to be money, but now just services, helping my fellow man! In turn my substance is great! I have a personal relationship with God! My Faith is that of a mustard seed! I don't fall for the preachers yea will a man rob God! After God open my spiritual eye's I now see the decite from enticing words from men trying to maintain a lavish lifestyle, while the poor givers starve, can't pay utilities bills or grocery? God is not an Author of Confusion, any man lack Wisdom ask God who give freely and upbraided not!

The first guy is going on his feelings as he said. I don't tithe but I believe and know God also. He has blessed me also. I obeyed Acts 2:38 and received the Holy Ghost. Why would God give me his spirit if I don't tithe? Tithes CAN NOT SAVE YOU! You can tithe but if you don't obey Acts 2:38, you can't be saved. Of course, Jesus talked about tithing, he lived under the law. If you going to obey part of the law you have to obey it all. You can't try to say just because people tithes they were blessed. I have been saved over 40 years and I don't tithes, but I was blessed with a big house, car, retired early, etc. I give money to help others, and church, etc. Giving money to the church don't mean you love God. Some are trying to buy their way into heaven. If you think tithes will get you into heaven, you are deceived. Most preachers will say tithing is for the church because they getting paid. If tithing was for the church, Acts 15th chapter would have been the place to put it at the council at Jerusalem.

Christians are taught to support the work of God. We consider it a blessing, honour & privilege to give. By faith, we learn the value of financial prudence and wisdom to live within our means. These principles within my experience allows me to give much more than I thought possible. Amen

It wasn’t just one tithe but the Malachi scripture refers to “tithes” there were 3 different tithes according to scripture. “Jewish-Roman historian Flavius Josephus refers to the first, second, and third (or poor) tithe. The third tithe was to be brought to the Levites, every third and sixth year of the seven year Sabbath cycle. The distribution of which to be given to those in need or want, especially widowed women and orphan children.” This understood means if you want to hold the law paying tithes ( which were agriculture, wine & oil) you will end up paying 30% instead of 10%. Under the law there were cycles of tithing. So for preachers who teach tithing are not teaching based on the original tithe. Jesus encouraged giving by the alabaster box scenario and many times where He spoke of giving and provision for those who couldn’t afford to pay us back. II Corinthians 9:7, he said we should give based on what is laid on the heart. There is nothing wrong with a person giving 10% of their income, possession etc. but it’s not mandated. God knew we would not be able to keep the laws and thank god Jesus came and brought Grace. Giving is good & encouraged. But if we want to keep the law, then all the dietary laws written in Leviticus, which the Jews kept and still keep will also apply. So you want to keep tithing in Malachi? Then don’t eat anymore barbecue ribs or don’t get a blood transfusion. Those are listed under the law too In Leviticus chapter 11. In fact none of us can keep the law. It was too much and too precise and once you broke one law you had to give a sacrifice for the whole law. Stop trying to stay with the legalities of the law and receive what Jesus has done. If you want to tithe or give a specific amount 10%. 20% etc do give snd it’s a blessing to give but not to give expecting a miracle because you have given. But just to give with Jesus in mind. You should take cate of your church. Bills need to be paid like in your house. Blessing the servant of God is godly. But preachers stop making this a mandate. It’s not scriptural.. we are so used to money making, scheming , tithe professionals in our churches thst when we hear the liberating truth of what god is saying we call it false! Read the word, get your translations, and study Gods word for yourself and not letting a man or woman dictate what god is speaking via His word and the Holy Spirit. II Timothy 2:15- “study to show yourself approved, a workman needing not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Study study study.. let’s stop just hearing everything without researching it. There’s liberty and freedom in Christ. In churches who don’t preach tithing don’t have problem with ppl giving. Research shows they over give. Because he noise around their neck has been loosened by truth of gods word!

Most African pastors, have been misled by the prosperity gospel.so much so that they forget to apply the principles of the new testament, for example:Acts of Apostles chp.2:47 tells us that the Christians continued stedfastly in the Apostles doctrine. ...and fear came upon every soul and many signs and wonders were done...they also forget that no true signs and wonders are being realised nowadays .and that after 20 years in the churches people end up to be unbelievers, more than believers..b'cos of their boasting of "dangerous tithers" and their wealth..it is a fallacy. ..

It is more blessed to give than receive. As for me and my house we will serve The Lord !!!! Nowhere in scripture does it suggest that tithing counts towards your salvation , yet I would not want my name written up as robbing God !!!! God is the same yesterday ,today and tomorrow !!! Cast your bread upon the waters and it will return to you after many days. Malachi tells us that tithe paying brings huge blessing plus " I will rebuke the devoured " . I have " Tested God " in this and found Him absolutely true to His Word . Wake up greedy people . God poured out all the resources of heaven for us " He so loved the world" !!!! We don't pay tithe we return to Him a portion of what already belongs to Him . We are just stewards .

Tithing were commanded by God during Moses time to sustain the Levites whom God commanded to take care of the temple. Now since the Levites have no lands to grow plants, trees nor herds, God ask tithing for the other tribes who have lands and herds they were ask 10 percent of their first fruit to sustain the Levites. But during the New testament Jesus get rid of the 10 percent instead He asked the Israelites to give according to their hearts because He loves the cheerful giver. NO MORE 10 Percent period. Remember they’re for the Israelites not Christians or to the people of the world.

Why do we choose to apply only the tithing act of Abraham as if its only thing he did.? Should we lie because he lied? Should we choose wives for our sons? We should as well give animal sacrifices to God as Abraham did, ofcourse not !because jesus was our ultimate sacrifice! So why do we choose to follow some actions and leave others?. Personally i think God will love when we give him wholeheartedly than give him just to fulfill law. Giving out of fear! Or giving him conditional to bless us. What do you tell people who ,, faithfully Tithe“ yet the promises in Malachi are not fullfiled in their lives. I think they feel scammed.

here is a thought. when the lame beggar cried out to peter and John for money, what was Peter's response? He said "silver and gold have i none but such that i have give i thee, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk" Now if the early church were all tithers then you would think that Peter and John would have been loaded and that they would have had more than enough to give the beggar.

Tithing is NOT nor has never been meant for the Gentiles! Tithing is an Old Testament concept. The tithe was a requirement of the Law in which the Israelites were to give 10 percent of the crops they grew and the livestock they raised to the tabernacle/temple (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5). In fact, the Old Testament Law required multiple tithes-one for the Levites, one for the use of the temple and the feasts, and one for the poor of the land-which would have pushed the total to around 23.3 percent. Some understand the Old Testament tithe as a method of taxation to provide for the needs of the priests and Levites in the sacrificial system. The New Testament nowhere commands, or even recommends, that Christians submit to a legalistic tithe system. The New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of income a person should set aside, but only says gifts should be “in keeping with income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). Some in the Christian church have taken the 10 percent figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving. The New Testament talks about the importance and benefits of giving. We are to give as we are able. Sometimes that means giving more than 10 percent; sometimes that may mean giving less. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom in the matter of participating in tithing and/or how much to give (James 1:5). Above all, all tithes and offerings should be given with pure motives and an attitude of worship to God and service to the body of Christ. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

It's like Sabbath , I truly beleive we are not under the commandments so we do not have to keep the Sabbath, BUT the 7th day of creation was before the commandments. We do not keep the Sabbath as preached in the law but we are tought to keep one day in seven holy and seperate and rest from the things of the world

And Randy is correct on tithing. Do u know why he's right? Because of the Holy Scriptures he gave us, not his words, but God's. Pay tithes if you want but you'll be living under the curse like God told the Levitical priests in Malachi 3:8-10. Plus, tithes was not money as it is taught in this generation. Peace

@@bernardshand3697 I'm not sure you understood me and are changing things , first I never said only one day holy I said to keep the Sabbath holy and seperate like God said at creation so of course as a Christian we worship Christ every day . I was just pointing out that certain things came before the commandments, now as for tithing as I said I don't think we are under the law to tithe. But the first time that some one gave 10% to God was before the law , so if nothing had ever been mentioned in the law about tithing there still was an example in the bible of giving to God . The teaching in the new testament about tithing is not biblical . My advice to new Christian's is to make some sort of commitment and once they have that they should then stick to it , the first time I felt I couldn't afford to give what I always gave I still did and I felt fantastic and God rewarded me . Remember your reward dosnt have to be financial . Every thing I have is God's and it is my pleasure to give to God, but not because I have to .

Nobody in the early church was above the elders. The Apostles were a temporary position. As they died they were not replaced. They had to have known Jesus and had seen him after he was resurrected. After John died the rules for the church were finalized. The churches kept their offerings and did whatever they wanted with it. There was no temple, no priesthood, no sacrifices in the Christian churches so no tithes. The apostles made it a rule that if you had an increase, like if you sold a property, you could keep it all. Or if you wanted to give it for the church (the apostles) to be distributed for those in need, then you had to give it all. So no more percentages. It was either all or nothing. Ananias and Saphira died because they wanted to give a percentage of their increase in violation of the new rule.

No one should lust after my money by using scripture to make me feel guilty. I'm not paying no more tithes, because the amount I paid I shouldn't be working now. Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. In Matthew, they were still under the Old Covenant that’s why Jesus didn’t condemn tithing but rather told them “these ought ye to have done”. The New Testament or New Covenant didn’t begin until after the death of Christ. Hebrews 9:16-17 16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

The Bible tells us to give free will offerings now. The Bible tells us in the old testament that things that were given in the Bible according to the God's laws were only edible things and also tells us that God commanded that money not to be given for tithing. To give money as tithing is breaking God's commandments according to the Bible. Hebrews, Chapter 7, in the Bible tells us that that God saw the laws were weak and unprofitable for us and that God disannulled the laws, also it tells us that whereas the priests had to offer up daily sacrifices that Jesus offered himself as the one final sacrifice for us, it also tells us if we continue to practice the old laws will have the old curses on us yet and not the Grace of Jesus. Give money as FREE WILL OFFERINGS to support your church, but according to the Bible DO NOT GIVE MONEY AS A FORM OF TITHING BECAUSE YOU WILL BE DISOBEYING GOD"S COMMANDMENTS AND REMAIN UNDER THE OLD CURSES ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE !

Pastor Kola should read Bible book of Hebrews 7: 1- down that said that there is the need of change in the Law because perfection was never found by the law. The Bible book of Hebrew 7 1 - down also explain why Tithing is not compulsory for Christian anymore. Please go read Bible book pf Hebrews 7: 1 - For this Mel·chizʹe·dek, king of Saʹlem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,a 2 and Abraham gave* him a tenth of everything. First, his name is translated “King of Righteousness,” and then also king of Saʹlem, that is, “King of Peace.” 3 In being fatherless, motherless, without genealogy, having neither a beginning of days nor an end of life, but being made like the Son of God, he remains a priest for all time.*b 4 See how great this man was to whom Abraham, the family head,* gave a tenth out of the best spoils.c 5 True, according to the Law, those of the sons of Leʹvid who receive their priestly office have a commandment to collect tithes from the people,e that is, from their brothers, even though these are descendants* of Abraham. 6 But this man who did not trace his genealogy from them took tithes from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises.f 7 Now it is undeniable that the lesser one is blessed by the greater. 8 And in the one case, it is men who are dying who receive tithes, but in the other case, it is someone of whom witness is given that he lives.g 9 And it could be said that even Leʹvi, who receives tithes, has paid tithes through Abraham, 10 for he was still a future descendant* of his forefather when Mel·chizʹe·dek met him.h 11 If, then, perfection was attainable through the Levitical priesthoodi (for it was a feature of the Law that was given to the people), what further need would there be for another priest to arise who is said to be in the manner of Mel·chizʹe·dekj and not in the manner of Aaron? 12 For since the priesthood is being changed, it becomes necessary to change the Law as well.k 13 For the man about whom these things are said came from another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.l 14 For it is clear that our Lord has descended from Judah,m yet Moses said nothing about priests coming from that tribe. 15 And this becomes even clearer when another priestn arises who is like Mel·chizʹe·dek,o 16 who has become such, not by the legal requirement that depends on fleshly descent, but by the power of an indestructible life.p 17 For it is said in witness of him: “You are a priest forever in the manner of Mel·chizʹe·dek.”q 18 So, then, the former commandment is set aside because it is weak and ineffective.r 19 For the Law made nothing perfect,s but the introduction of a better hopet did, through which we are drawing near to God.u 20 Also, inasmuch as this was not done without an oath being sworn 21 (for, indeed, there are men who have become priests without a sworn oath, but this one has become so through an oath sworn respecting him by the One who said: “Jehovah* has sworn, and he will not change his mind,* ‘You are a priest forever’”),v 22 Jesus has accordingly become the guarantee* of a better covenant.w 23 Furthermore, many had to become priests in successionx because death prevented them from continuing as such, 24 but because he continues alive forever,y his priesthood has no successors. 25 So he is able also to save completely those who are approaching God through him, because he is always alive to plead for them.z 26 For it is fitting for us to have such a high priest who is loyal, innocent, undefiled,a separated from the sinners, and exalted above the heavens.b 27 Unlike those high priests, he does not need to offer up sacrifices daily,c first for his own sins and then for those of the people,d because he did this once for all time when he offered himself up.e 28 For the Law appoints as high priests men who have weaknesses,f but the word of the oathg sworn after the Law appoints a Son, who has been made perfecth forever.

Jesus indeed did not condemn tithing and even endorsed it but Jesus himself was still under the law when he did endorse it. On the other hand, there is no real mention of "tithing" from the cross on. In fact, read 2nd Cor. chapters 8 and 9. I challenge you to see if the comments by Paul sound more like tithing or more like giving as a man has purposed to give in his heart without grudging or out of necessity. (paraphase a little) To me that sounds much more like give as you are able. I believe what we give is not as important as to give cheerfully whatever we give. And of course, sowing and reaping is a new testament principle but just not tithing. To have a curse attached to not tithing sounds much more like law and not grace. Jesus took away our curse on the cross and Gal 3:10 says if we put outselves under the law, we and then under a curse. No thank you! I give with freedom not only money but time and talents.

This is how you determine if NOT PAYING TITHES and offerings is MAN'S command or GOD'S command. God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar... (Romans 3:4). Do the Holy Scriptures Bible tell us anywhere, "DO NOT PAY TITHES?" Yes or No. If you say Yes. Then FIND THE SCRIPTURE and POST IT for all the WORLD TO SEE. If you say No. Then what is the argument? "NOT PAYING TITHES" is MAN READING INTO THE TEXT IN AN ATTEMPT TO PUT WORDS IN GOD'S MOUTH. 1.) Malachi 3:10, Tells us to bring all the TITHES for GOD'S house. 2.) 1 Timothy 3:15, Tells us GOD'S HOUSE is the "CHURCH" OF THE LIVING GOD, the pillar and ground of truth. 3.) Deuteronomy 14:25, Tells us we can turn it into money. 4.) Malachi 3:8, Tells us those who don't pay Tithes and offerings are robbing God. 5.) 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10, Tells us not to be deceived because thieves will not go into the kingdom of God. 6.) Matthew 4:17 and Mark 1:14, 15, Jesus tells us the kingdom of God is Heaven. 7.) John 1:1, John 1:14. and John 1:17, Tells us JESUS CHRIST IS GOD from the beginning who was then later made flesh. 8.) JESUS CHRIST, The Author and Finisher of our Faith, addresses TITHES only once in the entire 31, 102 verses of the Hebrew preserved Masoretic and Greek Antioch Text of the Holy Scriptures Bible preserved in English in the Authorized King James Bible. What did JESUS CHRIST say about TITHES? 9.) JESUS CHRIST tells us, we "OUGHT TO PAY TITHES" (Matthew 23:23). 10.) We "OUGHT TO OBEY" GOD and rather than MEN... (Acts 5:29)
