Was s'posed to pick up my Titan-X this week, along with an NK-300 Motor/battery kit. Then started thinking about the bow motor... I've had 3 Motorguide trolling motors, and had trouble with all THREE...! (I use Minnkota now, without ANY problems...!). Maybe I'll wait 'til Native has something in the Minnkota line...? Or, make it myself - to FIT...! (Might STILL get the Titan-X anyhow, as I've got over 5 years on my Titan with a NK-180 motor, without ANY problems! Great 'Yaks, for Sure...!) Thanks for the Install Video of the Motorguide.

Just stick to your NK300...and go for a tiller handle steering system...don't go with pedal steering system

I can't wait to see all the different setups, anglers will do, on that boat. Native was do to produce, and design a new kayak. Thats a machine, and you guys hit it out of the park! And not to mention for an amazing price!! 💯 😎 🛶

Circuit Breaker should be mounted as close as possible to battery. If wire is damaged/shorted between circuit breaker and battery a fire could occur.

Thanks so much for your thoughts! We have been testing a very similar distance for years on other kayak models without issue. If you would prefer to move the mounting location closer to the battery, it would be possible to mount the circuit breaker to the underneath the battery area cover. Hope this helps!

Looks like a great kit to hook up the Xi 3. Is it available to purchase yet and for how much? I pick up my new Titan X next Tuesday and I already have the Motorguide Xi3 on another kayak that I am going to transfer to the Titan. Also is there going to be a lighting package available as well? Nav lights, cockpit lights, power ports, and control panel etc.

There is an option for No Battery / No Motor which would only include all the bow mount/MotorGuide Xi3 Quick Release Plate/wiring/hardware/breaker/etc.(see product page for full list) if you already have a MotorGuide Xi3 and battery. There are also options to include a MotorGuide Xi3 Trolling Motor (Freshwater GPS or Saltwater GPS) and Dakota Lithium battery (60AH or 100AH). We are looking into lighting packages but don't have them quite yet. Hope this helps!

@NativeWatercraft Two questions after watching this again. For the battery install in the middle at 18:28, why is the hole drilled in the kayak instead of the bucket for the 60AH battery, it looks like the hull has plenty of room to do the wiring through the bucket? Also is it mandatory to cut the trolling motor cable at 24:52 or can this just be wrapped up neatly?

You can't trade Mark "banana peel" we've been using it for years in the trades. Also if you do this kind of thing you might wanna pick up a couple "fish sticks" for pulling cable.

I have noticed a lot of flex on my buddies titanx when he uses his tm. It’s got me second guessing getting one sooner rather than later. Really wish they would do a version without the drive hole.

Hey Chris, Did your buddy install the bow mount plate before installing the Xi3 Quick Release? If not, that will add significant stiffness and is required for the bow. This bow mount plate is included in all of our bow motorization kits as well. Hope this helps!

I currently have my Xi3 bow mount installed on the Titan X with the free motor mount. The bow of my Titan definitely flexes when starting and stoping my motor as well as when I place the motor onto the mount. I figured it was engineered that way to have some flex. However, I have sense ordered a Torqeedo to eliminate the bow mount and the potential or putting a hole in this awesome kayak. @nativewatercraft

The Titan X requires the bow mount here: nativewatercraft.com/products/titan-x-bow-motor-mount This will greatly reduce the flex when using a bow mount and is required just in case you would like to continue with the bow mounted Xi3. Is the dakota litium 60 ah battery plenty for a whole day on using the xi3 spot lock and traveling across lake with or would the 100ah be necessary.

I’m confused, yall have new colors now? Also the ones that just shipped we gotta drill? I got the titan x so I didn’t have to drill into my yak. I’m supposed to pick it up on Saturday during my stores launch event.

Regarding drilling into the bow, a few of the first Titan Xs produced require this. Can you put the Xi3 on a TitanX 10.5 and still use the pedal drive while the motor is in the up position? I know that some of the other 10ft Natives you cannot because there is not enough room between the pedal and and the motor head when it is up.

Will the registration page be updated to reflect this kayak? It's not a good look that this important detail has been a low priority for such a important milestone and at the inconvenience to the consumer.

My Power Queen 12volt 100ah fits right in the tray and the lid does cover and latches, it does feel thought that it is making slight contact with the post on the battery,is that a problem? It is just a plastic cover.

Glad you are picking up the new Titan X! There are a couple of options for getting the Bow Mount for the Xi3. You can get the Bow Mount Plate here on its own: nativewatercraft.com/products/titan-x-bow-motor-mount OR it is included in our Bow Motorization Kits. The Bow Motorization kits include all wiring, hardware, mounting plates, Xi3 Quick Release plate, etc. Those can be found here for the Titan X 12.5: nativewatercraft.com/products/titan-x-propel-125-bow-motorization-kits . They can be purchased with or without a battery and motor. These kits can also be purchased through authorized Native Watercraft dealers.

What's the highest thrust trolling motor you can put up front? I saw these at Icast last year and I want one to be my next yak.

Great question! We do not recommend anything larger than 55LB thrust. So 55LB thrust and below should be good to go.

Would the Yakpower 5 panel control switch fit on the sacrificial plate on the Titan X?

Can the Motor Guide XI3 be mounted on the Titan X 10.5 also when available even though it doesnt have the receptacle for the plug up front? Or even would that motor be a little to much power for that small of a kayak? I worry about getting water in on the front of the floor.

Yes, we have bow motorization kits with the Xi3 for the Titan X 10.5 here: nativewatercraft.com/products/titan-x-propel-105-bow-motorization-kit The PowerLink plate will be located on the bow hatch to run the wiring through. During testing, the Titan X 10.5 trims out really nicely with the Xi3 and is not too much motor for the kayak. Hope this helps!

Is the 500 wieght limit still 500 after being fully rigged or do you take the fully rigged weight of the limit ?

500 pounds would be calculated by taking the fully built kayak weight + paddler weight + gear on the kayak.

Is our titan x suppose to come with a transducer plate?

It does not. We adjusted the spacing of the inserts to be more universal for transducer mounts on the Titan X (ie the insert spacing should fit the vast majority of all all transducers on the market at this time). There may be a few obscure transducers that do not fit. If that is the case, we will be offering a mount plate with the next month or so. Hope this helps!
