It is very easy to sync with Clock Wave but the point is that this model only natively gets the time signals from the two Japanese radio towers and not the other four around the world. If I have a radio-controlled watch I don't want to have to use another app or program to get the time signal. I just want the watch to do it itself. That's why I prefer G-Shock's Multi-Band 6 because it can receive radio signals from ALL 6 of the radio towers around the world. Citizen does have models that can get the radio signal from all of the other towers around the world but this particular model is really only meant for people that live in Japan.

Own this watch for almost two years now. Used Radio Watch Sync (in the US) on my Android smartphone for the time correction in the beginning and it worked with no issues but later on I've figured this watch is accurate enough as is. For the last 5 month or so not doing any radio correction at all and my watch is still under a minute off. I am a mechanic and I'm using this watch as a primary "go to work" watch. Shows no wear on the case and some minor evidence of wear on the buckle and the bracelet. One of the best watches I've ever bought. Good stuff...

I really enjoy my green dialed version. Use the app and it's easy, set and forget. These are great for us small wristed Citizen fans. I wish Citizen would expand this line and add reception. Easy all day comfort and great quality.

I've had one of these for about five months now and love it! A few things I think you forgot to mention - you can easily switch between different time zones, it has a perpetual calendar, the bezel is DLC, not IP, and the clasp has a tool-less micro adjust that's really handy. It is a bit expensive for what it is, but it was the only thing that met my criteria at the time (highly legible uncluttered dial, solar powered, sapphire crystal, perpetual calendar, no proprietary bracelet). Had that new Oceanus T200 been available when I was buying it might have chosen it instead, because the radio control works anywhere and it's about $100 less expensive. But, the Citizen is titanium instead of steel, shows both day and date, has a better clasp with the tool free micro adjust, and the ti/black color scheme is more neutral than the Oceanus with all the various shades of blue. I use the ClockWave app to set mine every so often. It seems to run about ~6secs fast per month FWIW.

Great video. I’m a huge fan of this watch and own the green dial variant, the PMD56-2951. You can actually work around the Atomic syncing limitations by using JJY simulations through your computer on a few websites or by using the JJY Simulator or Clock Wave apps for most smartphones.

Good review, I have the blue one with the AT prefix. FYI I thought mine had a speck of dust on the daywheel too…then I noticed that it has an identical piece of dust on all 7 Kanji panels. It’s some kind of factory printing bug I guess, or Japanese punctuation lol. Love my watch, if you’re on the fence get off it, you will love it. Also, you can sync it outside of Japan with the JJY Emulator or Clockwave app, though some people find it doesn’t set the watch well even though it receives the signal from the app 💯

I had a similar issue receiving the U.S. signal, but then it began receiving the signal reliably after a month or so. Mine is the exact same watch but I bought it lightly used from a buddy of mine who has a bad JDM habit when it comes to watches. I would find a spot where you know you get a signal with your other watches and keep it there for a few days. Mine lived on a window sill for two weeks when I noticed it was receiving.
