Love this video! The only in the internet comparing these two pieces. Coincidentaly, my first diver was (and still is) a green sumo. I have ordered a blue dial seamaster with a rubber strap. Will be on my wrist in 2 weeks. Glad i wont have to choose one over the the other, as both seem to be kings at this price range.

The Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80 is the better choice. Price, workmanship, design, rate values for me 2.14 sec. per day. 80 hours power reserve. It couldn't be better than sapphire glass and a ceramic bezel. Thanks for your contribution. 🙏🏼😊

Tissot is In no shape or form the better timepiece....powermatic 80 is decent movement but cheap plastic parts! Seiko .....the finishing is in omega territory movement is medicore but if you going for accuracy get quartz

Can't decide. Both are very good watches ! However, I disagree with you that Seiko 200m is not a full fledged diver. It's part of the professional Prospex series.

I have the Seastar and I can tell you it's great. Considering the price, it's fantastic. I have only one small qualm about it which is that the design of the digits on the bezel gets a little bit old after awhile. But if you want them to disappear on the wrist, then maybe you dig it, I think it's a subjective thing. The power reserve, the dial, the date at 6, the handset, the indices, the timekeeping, all absolutely fantastic. The bracelet is also nice.. the clasp is not milled but I have found that this doesn't really matter in practice. It is quite a heavy watch. The Seiko wins on lume but the Tissot is adequate. Anyway, I was really surprised what a great watch the Tissot turned out to be.. in particular the dial, the legibility, the power reserve and reliability, the quality of the build, the handset and the date functionality are all superb. I really wasn't expecting it to be as high up among my fav. watches in the collection as it is...

200 meters for Seiko is with an ISO certificate and it's a true diver watch. But Tissot has no ISO certificate, so you can't be sure about 300 meters and they can't be counted as real diver watches.

I like tissot for having a ceramic bezel but I hated it for the 21mm lug width meanwhile the Seiko SPB , has a much thinner profile on the wrist but a non ceramic bezel display but a versatile 20mm lug width between the 2, ill go for seiko

I am not that much into divers and do not yet own one. This boils down to 2 main reasons: 1) I do not really like the dominant outer ring to show remaining diving time - the "Longines Legendary diver" is a really refreshing alternative I already considered (unfortunately, it does not comply to #2 on my list) 2) Most Divers do not offer a glass bottom - I like to take off a watch and take a look on the movement... what reason do you have to buy an automatic watch unless you cannot take a look at it? This is a major requirement, at least for me, maybe even more important to me than #1. For your question: From therse two I prefer the Seiko just for the looks. Even if it does not match my personal preference... Cool video, good content - like!

The tisso is a vastly superior timepiece. I was trying to decide between the Tissot and a Mido sea star. Tissot not only has a hundred more meters of water resistance, but it is way more refined. I ended up getting the Mido specifically because I love the packaging. I don't regret my decision but at the same time wish I had purchased the Tissot. Anything made by the Swatch Group is an incredible value. Seiko watches always leave a bad taste in my mouth. Their dive watches are one step above a toy watch and quite disappointing. The best budget Japanese dive watch would have to be the Orient komatsu.

your points were valid but you forgot the fact that tissot (in this video) is not DIVERS rated , Seiko punches above its weight class bcos of that Divers ISO rating the same goes to watches like tudor or rolex that are way more expensive Tissot is a good timepiece together with the ceramic bezel which helps it to look like brand new always but the 21mm lugs is a deal breaker for me, Seiko for me on this one. but hey, most people dont take their divers watch for diving and mainly use it to complement their clothes so tissot isnt that of a bad option after all

Tissot is without an ISO certificate for diving, so 300 meters is just marketing. On Seiko, 200 meters are real, approved by the diving ISO certificate. Also, Seiko has more refined movement and it's much easier to maintain. No need to look for a Swatch Group-certified watch master to repair or maintenance your watches.

I haven't dived for quite a few years but I can say I'd much rather use the Seiko. The Tissot is really a dress watch that you can get wet. The bezel just isn't practical. Saying that I don't think there's too many divers that don't use a computer so it's a all a bit pointless.

Bro, I work in the watch industry for more than 10 years. I spoke to technicians, who fix watches from water leakage. They told me, that 100 metres water resistace is not enough for swimming,, but 200m is enough. Its a long story to explain about the way watch manufacturers mean 200 metres water resistance. So 300 metres is actually the beginning of a watch to be called a "diving watch". One thing is marketing, another thing is a practice, but many 9 out of 10 in retail sales say, that 100 metres you can swim no problem. You can swim with 10 bar, but sooner or later you will get a water leakage. Its a long story talk. I dont recommend people to swim with the watch without a screw in crown, which almost never comes in lets say 10 bar
