I have the Edifice Casioak (cost me 110 USD) and the Kamasu (first gen, green dial/green bezel, cost about 220 USD) and they both look twice more expensive than what I paid for them. I did get them during summer discount sale, so bear in mind they are usually hard to find at the prices I mentioned.

A very good list. Beaucroft are well worth consideration. It's great to see so many British based brands bringing good watches to market. OK they have to source most parts elsewhere but there are some very innovative designs going on that make them special.

I disagree. I picked up a Lionel train watch for $5 at a garage sale a couple of years ago. It still runs and never fails to entertain!

The Citizen NH8390-03X is also a really great and awesome looking watch for below 200$. Especially in green with the sunray dial.

Totally agree, especially with the Seiko Cocktail and older 5 range. The Star Bar Cocktail limited watches have some very unique dials and look at least twice more expensive. The Seiko 5 range have very good detailing for such low price. They were of course even way cheaper couple years ago, but still amazing bang for buck!

I'm selling my cocktail time for an Alpanist which second hand worked out at just over £400. The cocktail time is still lovely but it just gets a bit boring after a year or two. I wanted something that was more wearable in the days as well as nights. Cocktail time is so well priced though either way.

some nice looking watches there , alot of them ive not heard of , but i di like the look of the seiko & maen ones , very nice , i also love my seikos & i also like bulovas, & longines too .

The biggest problem with Casio in a list about expensive looking watches is not the build quality but how well known the brand is for really affordable watches. The watch itself looks more expensive than it is, but the moment they see the casio logo most people will know it's very affordable.

There are only few watch brands that when the average person sees they'll think it's expensive mainly just rolex, cartier and maybe AP.

@@zhixci958 I would disagree, at least what the average person would call expensive for a watch. Sure when we are talking about watches that cost over 10K or even 100K most people only know Rolex and maybe a few more, but for the majority of people "expensive" for a watch starts way below that. A lot of my friends, colleagues and family members think the 420€ i spent on my Seiko Cocktail Time is way too much for a watch.

I got a great looking affordable Seiko, but my one gripe is the second hand doesn't line up with the marks. If they ironed out that kink it'd be perfect.

How do you do this list without a tissot prx?

So with the Maen is it better to upgrade the £300 for the Sellita movement or go with the Ronda R150?

@@jayden_2954 I know this is from 5 months ago but: The upgraded movement gets some really nice finishing and decoration as well as an exhibition caseback to show it off. I think it might also have a tighter accuracy tolerance but don't quote me on that.

It had a fairly long lug to lug to it should work on a large wrist, and with the 37mm Case, it should work on small wrists too. Universal dimensions!

My salmon no date came in last week. More copper/bronze and bank salmon. It’s a beauty. The blue and salmon dials are tops.

The Orient Bambino line should have made it on this list. Also, if we're including microbrands, the Helm Vanuatu dive watch looks like it costs 4x what it actually does.

Meh..... i give you the right ones!! Seagull 1963 chrono, Pierre Paulin Jumping hours, Sugess chrono (the one that looks like zenith), Sugess Tourbillon, Tissot PRX quartz or Mech (depends on your budget), Vintage Bulova accutron spaceview, Zodiac Olympos, Zodiac Astrographic, Bulova Super Seville day date. If you want more just ask !!

I think the seagull 1963 looks pretty cheap, the Pierre Paulin jump hour was released after this video was made, sugess chrono is just a straight up copy of another watch, Yes the PRX is, but that's a super obvious pick that everyone already knows about. As the for Zodiac and Bulovas... Sure, bit niche, but sure.

I stick to my JUNGHANS Max Bill, designed in the early sixties by BAUHAUS Künstler Max Bill. JUNGHANS re-introduced the watch in the early 2000's. I bought mine in 2010. It's the only watch I have. I've payed €625.00 back then. I like all my things to have a story. Otherwise it's just an object...regardless of the price.

But which one is the Seiko from the thumbnail?

Casio could saved time and effort by leaving out the screws on the Edifice and had a better looking watch, are they real or milled, hard to say from the video

Why don't they make an analog watch that just gives the day of the week, instead of the date? With the date, you have to re-set your analog watch 5 times a year. And quite frankly, the day of the week (Monday, Tuesday, etc.) are what I care about, not that it's the 1st, the 7th, the 23rd day of the month.

You may have overlooked the new 38.5mm Casio Duro. It goes for around £60. The older 44.5 mm watch can be had for around £50 or less. This is the watch Bill Gates wears!

I really liked the watch that was in thumbnail. Unfortunately, it wasn't one of the watches discussed. I'm really not a fan of the bait and switch, and for what it is worth, that's a quick way to make sure people avoid your content.

Why would anyone buy a watch that looks expensive and is not? Your really fooling yourself and not others. It's like buying a Porsche boxer and not a Carrera. In this case, a Tudor and not a Rolex

I'm sure you've picked some very fine watches. For men under 5'8" tall. Only two have case diameters of 42mm. The rest are 40mm and under. That's a fail in my book.

@@TopTierTicker I would argue that for everything we wear there is an optimal size. Optimal relative to it fits and makes you look your best. You don't wear shoes that are too big or too small, you don't wear pants, or hats that are too big or too small. And if you want to argue that's not jewelry, do you wear rings that's too big or a necklace that's too big? That's why you don't wear women's watches. They're too dainty. Same with men's watches with too small a case size. It should be a major element when deciding to make a purchase. It's simply common sense. And that you didn't think of it before, only goes to your lack of self-awareness.
