Tires vs Tracks on the Traxxas TRX-4 - Product Review
The Traxxas TRX-4 is an AMAZING truck. And the Tracks are a really cool upgrade. But how do they actually perform?

Thanks for the video. Great review and information about the tracks. Would not have guessed they would make that big a difference in battery consumption.
Your video and rc athletes enlightened me to the trx4. Got the bronco and ford body. So much fun going slow. Since 1986 it was all about speed.
Yeah that was awesome, think I'll stick to my Voodoo KLR/M's they are a awesome tire. Appreciate you sharing this is the beauty of the hobby , out with the family. This is my passionate too !! I'll watch for more.
Just picked up the TRX4 and it came with a set of tires also and I look fwd to taking it out for a test myself. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, really good information!!
Great video epic location good comparison great to see families that rc together 👍👊💯
Those Traxx are freaking cool!!
Hi guys the best video I've seen on & about rc tracks, open and truthful about them as well telling us about the battery life 👍👌
Great point about the price comparison.
Very cool comparison. I did the same one but used the 2.2's, because they kinda matched up, size wize...haha great video
I've got the Traxx myself. I got them on pre-order for $200. I bolted them on and took a few pics, but that's all I've done with them yet. I run Alientac wheels with Proline Flat Irons typically. I got the tracks for strict applications such as sand, mud, and snow. Otherwise I run the tires. The right tires and foams can get you over terrain the tracks can't. I tire can conform to the surface (with the right foams) where as tracks really can't as well. The tracks are mostly for very soft or slippery conditions while not so much for dry or rocky conditions. I heard that Traxxas will be making different treads for the Traxx, not sure when or what they might look like. If I were to assume, a more aggressive tread will be the first to come out.
Haha that kid at the end of video was amazing
I believe traxxas also states it stay in low range using traxx. Even doing that I did have temp issues trying to move to fast in low.
I’d like to snag a pair of these traxx to make videos with on my Bruce’s rc adventures channel. They would be a dedicated winter use
I’ve never really looked into the tracks but man they seem to work great! Too bad it drains batteries though, I’ll stick with tyres. Subbed 👍
Ooooo its Ford verses Chevy!!!! My to favorite old school full size SUV's. I have a set of traxxs for my defender and I love them in the snow and sand and some creek running. And for for every thing else tires, but tires are fun in snow, sand, and water too. For me I use my 2s lipos with my traxxs. Good vid!!!
my experience with tracks . great on trail and sand but driving up larger rocks and steeper inclines they dont come close to tires
Nice video! Nice review! Thinking about this truck for my kid for Christmas. We have a bunch or different RC’s but only one Traxxas. This think looks like it’s good quality. Is there any aftermarket motors cooling heat sink kits yet? I did that for my eRevo years ago. It seemed to help.
I was struggling with mine. Mind you I bought them used but I looked them over before running them. I did manage to burn up my motor with one battery. I put in a 30 turn motor and lowered the pinion gear. Any other suggestions?
Tracks give you more surface contact so you get more traction but also more resistance therefore consume more electricity out of those batteries, not ideal for that terrain but really cool looking.
