★ 🇮🇹Tirano - 🇨🇭St. Moritz cab ride with rear view, Italy to Switzerland [10.2019]

In this video, we look at one of Switzerland's most beautiful and unique railways, the Unesco heritage listed Berninabahn - this time in the opposite direction.
The next video on this line will be with deep snow in 4K, so stay tuned.
The Bernina railway sets a few records, including being the highest railway alpine crossing in Europe (2253m), the highest adhesion railway of the continent, the open air railway with the greatest height difference (1824m) and furthermore one of the steepest adhesion railways (conventional railway without cogs) worldwide, with gradients of up to 7%.
A unique aspect of Switzerland's narrow gauge mountain railways is the mixing of passenger and freight wagons in a single train, with wagons often added or removed at intermediate stops with shunting locomotives. On the Bernina line, the cargo mostly consists of wood on stake cars and derivatives of oil in tank cars. Our train today has 3 empty stake cars to the rear, which you will see in the rear view camera along the way.
Due to the late afternoon, the sun is mostly behind the mountains, leaving us without direct sunlight. However, this trip will be recorded again in different conditions and in 4K60p in the future.
Please note the position of the microphone to avoid conversations being recorded - it is on the opposite cab of our multiple unit. You will be hearing some eerie and for some people, funny creaking sounds along the way - this comes from the couplings and the buffer when push or pull forces are applied during the trip. The sounds are completely normal and exist everywhere where UIC couplings are in place. Grease and oil are not to be applied on the hook and coupling.
At this point, I would like to thank Paolo for making this video possible and providing a great deal of information included in the video. His channel: / dellacapaolo
Any questions concerning the trip and the line will gladly be answered by him.
Stay tuned for further RhB videos in 4K.

Lori posts the most scenic rides I've seen thus far. I served in the US Army in the late 70s-early 80s and stationed in Neu Ulm Germany I took advantage of any free time I could to see places such as Austria, Innsbruck quite often. Looking at the scenery in the videos makes me sort of homesick really

I really enjoyed this video. I have Microsoft Train Simulator, as old as it is, running on my Windows 10 with 28" screens, and have driven this route in the simulator many times, one of my favorite add-ons of the famous Swiss routes. It was really nice to see the actually scenery, and experience the many sites and features, including the switchback climbs and the famous Brusio circle viaduct. I really appreciate your posting these long videos. I am old enough that getting out of my lazy boy chair often is a challenge, and these videos let me explore the world.

Fortunate to do this trip in a panorama car. Fantastic. I really enjoyed a walk around Tirano too. Another beautiful Italian town. Let me out Austalia!

Before the world went mad. This is amazing, beautiful scenery in perfect weather as weil as impressive Swiss engineering, both in terms of railway and rolling stock! I hope to return one day :)

What a great journey. Beautiful landscapes!. It seems they were very busy building tunnels in 1910.
