Tirana, the capital of Albania, is known for its colorful Ottoman-, Fascist- and Soviet-era architecture. Pastel buildings surround the citys focal point, Skanderbeg Square, which is named for its equestrian statue of a national hero. On the squares north end is the modernist National History Museum, covering prehistoric times through Communist rule and the anti-Communist uprisings of the 1990s. // Tirana (/tɪˈrɑːnə/ (listen) tih-RAH-nə, Albanian: tiˈɾana; Gheg Albanian: Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Due to its location at the Plain of Tirana and the close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is particularly influenced by a Mediterranean seasonal climate. It is among the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe, with 2,544 hours of sun per year. Tirana was founded as a city in 1614 by the Ottoman Albanian general Sylejman Pasha Bargjini and flourished by then around the Old Mosque and the türbe. The area that today corresponds to the citys territory has been continuously inhabited since the Iron Age. It was inhabited by Illyrians, and was most likely the core of the Illyrian Kingdom of the Taulantii, which in Classical Antiquity was centred in the hinterland of Epidamnus. Tirana is my favorite city for me in Balkans because in just 30 minutes you get in a mountain and ski an half an hour you get to Durres to the beach, the night life in tirana is just amazing the culture history just love the city. Greetings from Bari Italia albanian brothers italia Albania amici

Thank you. I loved my time in Tirana, and I wore my shoes out walking those same streets. One thing that struck me was how crowded the pavements could be. It was also very hot, even at the end of October. @19:40 - an excellent pub. They are very friendly.

@@mathewvanostin7118 yup, very European from how they look, white; Greeks have an olive complasion; so Europeans, but their behaviors and social organization are more Turkish or Middle Eastern, until they go to live in Europe; there they pick up quickly the languge and even the culture. Hundreds of thousands of Albanians moved to Greece and many became Greeks; many others live in Italy, Germany, UK and elsewhere in western Europe.

Hello there, very nice city walk on Balkan city which not so familiar with. Nice piecefull ambiance, super clean too, lot of parks and trees. Modern buildings tell well, how your economy is developing. As wish, you could maybe show more when walking the cafeterias, restaurants and shops on the way. They looked very temptating! Lets hope you get your poilitical reforms done and find out the ways to set limits to a fraid Albanian mafia, so that in future you can join a family of EU countries. EU is not any more a paradise, but you would be much well off as part of it. Albania to many of us looks like a hidden jewel. Based on this vlog only, that can be the case. So... we just need to find it.

Grazie per l'apprezzamento che un se tiene un altro discorso che non c'entra con questo video..Quello che lei vede e grande grande lavoro di gente di mio paese,con molta cura e tanta persistenza..albanesi sono grandi lavoratori e questo lo hanno dimostrato con ultimo terremoto in tempo record costruivano tutto..2 anni..in Europa hanno avuto i fondi miliardi e miliardi per zone terremotate da più di 20-30 anni e non hanno fatto niente??dove vanno i fondi??Questa e Mafia europea di qui un albanese come me non ne vuol fare parte a questa Europa Corrotta..In Europa le calamità li usano per fare soldi ..in Albania si alzano le maniche e la gente lavora..e la prego non diminuire qui un bel video canalizzandola a suo piacimento..hace a nice time

Più viaggi meglio è, io voglio visitare Belgrado ma sono molto occupato, visitando Belgrado e piuttosto musei voglio avere un altro punto di vista. Non credo i altri, ho dubbi, umanità è la stessa dappertutto. A Tirana troverai un popolo molto rispettoso per culture diverse, anzi il diverso sarà in primo posto.
