This video is ridiculous! As someone who lived in Tirana for a couple of years, I can testify that the video is a bunch of lies and paid propaganda done unfortunately intentionally to damage the image of Albania. The country is located in Ballkan which is Europe and is incredibly beautiful. Based on my personal experience I can say that Albanians are very creative and hard workers. Also, very hospitable.

This documentary, despite the good will, it is misleading in many many regards. There are many wrong statements about the culture, identity, religion, foreign influence etc. The so-called guide states that “There are 82% albanians in the country and the rest are italians, middle easterners etc”, while in fact, officially in the country albanians comprise 96% of the total population while there are no middle easterners in the country. She also declares that “We are close to Europe but we are not Europe”, while Albanians were one of the first populations among the other ones from the Balkans to be in the center of what started to be considered as Europe or the European culture in the XV century, and many similar wrong and misleading statements. The Balkans are no other than a region of Europe due to their history, geography, language, cultural values etc. In the same line the narrator follows the suit. He declares that “The country has not developed in comparison to other nations, while in fact it is one of the fastest growing economies in the entire Europe. He also declares that “more than half of the population in Kosova declare themselves as Albanians while officially 93-94% of Kosova’s population identify themselves as Albanians etc. For this reason, and many more which are not cited here, this video needs to be edited and republished.

I don’t doubt your good intentions but in the future screen your local connections, do some of your own research and check, double check. I would list all the inaccuracies which for a 20 minutes video is impressively long but it would be a waste of time not to mention the fact that it has been done quite competently by my fellow commentators which are by the looks of it by and large Albanians. She said that albanians are lazy af wich I dont agree and I would say that we are bursting our asses working hard in and outside albania. Second thing the red in the albanian flag was not because of the blod of the people killed during the comunism time coz the albanian flag is since 1400 at the scanderbegs time or maybe even earlier so has nothing to do with the comunism. Also regarding the mafia nobody from them will come to a new opening store and ask for money, We are not italian mafia xp. In my opinion the fact why albania is not very developed like Greece or Italy is because of the 40+ years of comunism. And again we are NOT LAZY.

people are more welcoming and warmer, not necessarily because of the weather but because of the language they speak. For example, the Latin, Albanian, Turkish languages have something in common. Namely that the letter E is pronounced and used, a letter of smile and breathing and many of the words in these languages end in the letter E, but especially in the Romanian language we have two letters, E and Ă and in the Romanian language almost 90 % of the words end in these vowels, and this makes the one who pronounces these words smile, and a smiling face makes your face beautiful and gives you a good mood. Hence the music of these languages is more cheerful. While in English, most words end in consonants like G, T, N which make the mouth closed and most words in English start with the letters HO, so you don't really have a way to smile and always saying the same words, your mouth already has a different shape , another vibration and another energy.

Not "more than a half" but 95% of Kosov is Albanian and the official language is Albanian. There are no differences between Albanian in Albania and Albanian in Kosovo or in N. Macedonia but Kosovo and N. Macedonia were a minority in ex-yugoslavia. But Albania Albanians never were a part of ex-yugoslavia. That is the only difference.

The Albanians are after the arrival of the Illyrians, pure Aryan blood and the Albanian language is proto-Indo-European and more than 7000 years old, the oldest language in the world, the roots or beginnings of every other language in the world, 75% of humanity originates from the Pelazgo-Illyrian tribes and today's greece is 70% albanians who are called arvanitas with orthodox faith, and troja is in albania between lezhe of shkodra and the cyclops cave where odyssey got stuck is in the city in the south Himara and old sparta comes from the word SWORD which means sword, military people who used the sword well, strategies, combat techniques, for example, like the genius who conquered Europe, Mercury Bue Sword with his 1200 knights as mercenaries. And King Pyrrhus was freed from Epirus and Alexander the Great his mother was freed from Epirus and Skanderbeg all these warrior-kings had as emblems the head of the wild goat which shows that they are the descendants of the sons of ZEUS and the avant-garde troops of ALEXANDER THE GREAT cavalry it was called AGEMA with the emblem of the wild goat, which were Illyrian, but the great powers divided Albania in 1912, not allowing it to unite, it took its 4 vilayets, its lands occupied by the Ottoman Empire, thanks to the help of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, we declared independence in 1912, I preserved the basic borders of Greater Albania, the center of Albanianism. the Italians are the descendants of the Illyrians and the Illyrian tribes, after the burning of Troy, Enea is an Albanian name, he went to the Italic peninsula where he was received by other Illyrian tribes who gave him the right to set up camp where he was formed back and Rome and the Byzantines are from the Illyrian tribes because The Latin language took 80% from the Albanian language and the Slavic Russians are the descendants of the Illyrians because the Illyrian Pelasgian tribes were the best warrior pirates in the world and they emigrated and traveled everywhere setting up villages and the Anjou Gauls are Illyrian and the Franks of Germany are Illyrian and the Scots are illyrian from the northern Gege tribes of Albania also the old egypt arabia are from iliyrian tribes just u need all to read the authentic authors lingiust albanolog to understand the truth and not the geopolitical interests of big states that deny their origin. that's why Albanians speak more foreign languages than any other people because they have it simply because the Albanian language is the root of the genesis of other foreign languages and moreover they are the most intelligent people with a rare Mediterranean beauty and a loving and loyal people. in Albania, no one can make a mafia or a strong gangster, it doesn't last more than 1 month or 3 months, he will be killed, and from a child if it fell on his neck, not even the state can make a mafia, because the nature of the Albanian is the nature of the fighter, he has the heart of a lion that he knows the fear of killing you only if you violate his honor or betray him, the mafia makes bravery outside the borders with foreigners, that in Albania they kill you, they don't want to know who you are from, what you have, how many have you killed or are you a minister or deputy or president, because it is the old oral and written law called KANUN here 7000 years ago, that if you killed a man, you will be killed by a man, if there are no men, they will kill the children, if there are no men in the house, they will kill the children then the blood and revenge are taken by the women of the house, so don't listen up and down to some ignorant people who talk bad about Albania and exaggerate that they have a grudge.

This video has a lot of misleading and untrue information about Albania, Where did you find that guide?! Albania has a lot of hardworking people as well as some lazy people that as it seems your guide is surrounded by. If sometimes the young people don't want to work a certain job it has to do with the low salary, and I don't blame them, life has become very expensive and eventually they do compromise at some point or learn German and leave the country which I find it more of an issue for the country, but personally speaking I am surrounded by very honest and hard working people young and old and I find her comment very rude and offensive. Kosovo is over 90% Albanian ethnic people not just half. We are not close to Europe, we are in the HEART of Europe,. Yes we are not part of the EU but that is a political structure not cultural and geographical truth. Why should we feel part of Asia when even Turkey that is mostly in Asia has a lot of European Influence. We did not have any Arabic influence or invasion, and even Spain, Portugal and South Italy that were invaded by Arabs/moors do not have that much influence left, excluding some architecture inheritance from their rule and and contribution in mathematics and South Yes Albania has a problem with crime, like everywhere else but thanks to movies like Taken and to British media (along with a few others) being very biased all the world thinks we are a bunch of dru...dealers how would a British feel if I say they are all (and fill the blank with some of the worst prejudices that exist just because of some bad people we have meet from that particular country or other countries? Read Greek historians Greek language and culture is influenced by Albanians (Arvanitas are a great influence in what is the Greece of today) as well as Albanian is influenced by Greek language, and so with a lot of other It is true, Albania is poor, it is true that it has been influenced by other countries, but we also have influenced other countries. The guide btw did not say anything about being the middle eastern minority that was an addition from you , we have refuges from some countries in war in Middle east but not settled minorities from ME. The influence of Ottoman empire was greater in places like Tirana and other middle Albania regions than in the very north and the very south & south east and the especially mountainous areas . Actually Turkey with the help of the ex- political leaders in Albania and a little bit of the actual ones has influences Albania more in the last 30 years than in the previous centuries, but the novelty is the influence of the middle east from extremest organizations especially during Berisha time. That said I have nothing against Turks, they are among the friendliest people I know and they host millions of Albanian descend people in Turkey that were kicked out from their own houses and land in Serbia of today and in Cameria in Greece, etc, and they are always welcomed to visit as well as all people from all countries I just want to preserve the culture, traditions and language of my forefathers The population is in the vast majority nonreligious and yes we have more than 5 official religions. The official language is Albanian but schools for the Greek minority are in Greek and so on. Children can choose from a vast array of languages and the majority favors English and German with French, Spanish and Italian following right after the first two. As for Italian fashion of better say sense of style it has influenced the whole world and it is one of the most beautiful ones, why not, what I can notice though is much more of a tendency for athlesure influenced by US and the Nordics but maybe I am wrong. Anyway, next time choose a better guide. I am not one that want to paint the picture pink but I hate misinformation because we Albanians have been victims of misinformation a lot more than any other nation. The staring might be true in the small town and villages, or from people that come from remote areas in the capital. but in the capital and the other bigger cities with a lot of tourists is not the norm.

And your guide is just an ignorant person btw. The albanian flag is from the time of scanderbeg 1444, and comunism established after WWII.. so it can’t be the blood of the people killed “especially” during the comunist regime. And the Red of the flag is not dark red.. but just Red. CMYK (0, 100, 100, 0) written in the constitution.

While I do appreciate your effort to present a realistic view about Albania and its people, I would strongly suggest that you should pick a more educated guide. Not only she is absolutely lacking proper historical knowledge but she is providing a great deal of misinformation. For example, the albanian population in Kosovo is not half but comprises 95% of its inhabitants. Albanians do not feel somehow close to Europe, albanians are europeans and Albania as an Balkans country, is in Europe. Ottoman empire invaded and kept Albania under its control for 500 years (more or less) but Albanians don't feel somehow close to Asia or Türkiye for that matter. Nothing can be further from the truth. With the exception of some religious zealots who put their religion ahead of national interests, the majority of albanian population is clear in the fact that Ottoman occupation has been the darkest page of Albania's history. Those are some of the inaccuracies and rather disinformation provided by your guide. I couldn't finish watching the video. Probably there were way more inaccuracies and disinformation embedded in it. If I were to rate it, I'd give you an 8 for the effort and 0 for accuracy.

It takes few minutes to google and get the right answers. Please double check next time. Albania and Albanians are great. (Not lazy at all) please check the list of inventions we made and Albanians worldwide famous. You will be surprised. We are a secular country. We are native to the land. Our language is one of the oldest languages in Europe and we come from Illyrians. Shame on the tour guide for misleading and giving wrong informations. ❤🇦🇱🫶🏼🦅 Albania has friendly, warm, respectful people, talented people and heroes and great minds throughout all history.
