¡Muchas gracias por mirar!
Hi, I have felted some wool and am wondering if it needs to be ironed for an even smooth finish before using. I am excited to try this method of applique. thanks

With wool, we have not found that ironing before use makes a huge difference, however, if that is your preference, you are definitely welcome to do that :)

When using the 100 wgt thread on top, what do you use in the bobbin? Will ordinary 50 wgt cotton work ok? I know I'd have to fool with the tension if I do this. Is there a reason why not to do this?

It should work just fine- or you can use "Bottom Line" bobbin thread, which is super strong and works with any thread on the top of the machine: bit.ly/BottomLineShabbyFabrics
The right side of wool is the one in which the threads run the length of the wool as it comes off the bolt.

What is a Euclen rinse? Is it a product?

Great question Becky! Eucalan Rinse is a product that helps condition the fibers of the wool! Here is a link to one on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Eucalan-Rinse-Delicate-Wash-Unscented/dp/B001W93UWS
Are you using wool felt or a special type of wool?

We are using wool felt :) Thanks for watching!
I recently got a wool BOM and wondering about washing small pieces of wool. Doesn't it shrink if you wash in warm water or dry in dryer? Makes me terrified to try and wash them.

Washing your wool felt before cutting into your design or appliqué is a great idea. Prewash in a sink of hot running water making sure to fully submerge the felt. Use soap and gently squeeze the felt into a ball, rinsing and repeating until the water runs clear. This process does two things to the felt. First, the hot water gets any excess dye out. Not all colors bleed, but some do. Second, the combination of hot water, soap and gentle squeezing is further felting the fabric, binding the fibers even closer together and causing the felt to shrink. Lay flat to dry completely. A washing machine on the delicate cycle is a great alternative to prep large batches.

Eucalan is an amazing product that puts the softness back into wool after it has been dyed!
