Cody. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks, they saved me a bunch of money. I did all the Stainless trim on my 61 comet and I'm sure I save hundreds of dollars if I was to send the trim out...

How many hours do you estimate you took to complete the project? Also, what brand dolly did you get?

2: When sanding by hand it was suggest to use somekind of straight backing behind the sandpaper (ie:piece of wood) to keep your fingers from following the waves or dips already in the trim.

Great video Cody. Thanks for sharing. Do you know anyone that can fill a hole in a piece of stainless trim? I used to go through Harold Wallace in Camas but I don't think he's doing it any longer. I'm in Portland, OR.

Hi Cuda Cody -- love the videos, but one quick question- is all the trim on a 69 Cuda considered Stainless Steel. I've heard that excess sanding and buffing removes the chrome plating, requiring re-chroming. Thanks!

3: Another tip was to wrap the sand paper around the file to keep things flat... Also clean the file frequently so the filings don't create scratches.... another DA that was suggest to work well was... Astro Pneumatic 3050 Complete Dual Action Sanding & Polishing Kit. I have not used it, but looked like something that would work well.

I've had some good feedback with more tips I want to share with everyone. 1: Stacking buffing wheels will make a wider buffing surface and make it easier to keep the trim center while buffing. Be sure your buffer can handle the extra weight of the additional wheels. If you want to know how much your buffer can handle, go to Caswellplating website and look for the chart that shows the max wheels sizes / width.

4: I wanted to explain in video 2 to make sure your DA is set in "spin" only mode. Using the dual action will leave to many swirls in the trim.

I have swirl marks in my chrome exhaust pipes that won't buff out. Do you have any experience doing this with chrome or have any idea if this process would work?
