This was a top hit on KZread for my search, along with similar videos, but my question wasn't how to be more professional, but how to protect your individuality in a corporate environment. Do you have any advice on authenticity and personal integrity?

@@88tongued Unfortunately there is not much room for individuality in a corporate setting. No one cares who you are individually, sorry, but the individual is the corporation as a whole and your individual representation of it.

I often felt unappreciated at work. It began to effect my performance at work however until I adopted an attitude to just do the best job I could and see how it paid off. I began to notice that other co-workers were beginning to go the extra mile and do work outside of their job descriptions. One day my boss approached me and expressed how appreciative he was that my actions changed the work environment. Shortly after I was given an hourly raise.

I think its necessary to also keep in mind that, though people do judge, they are not always correct in assessment. It is better to know yourself and your true focus than to be overly concerned about the judgement of others. But maintain an understanding of judgements and try to address them.
