Awesome Names! I have done that as well and also named fish after food such as kimchi, after planets, japanese themed, etc. I really love unique and creative names usually after things I enjoy or interest me as well even in other cultures!

I do this all the time. I had a blue longtail- type Oranda with white wen called Bugs Bunny, a Tiger Yuan Bao called Torajima (striped cat), a red and white Ranchu called Ponyo, an all black Ranchu called Bullet Bill (Mario Bros.). I would name your Butterfly Goldeen (goldfish pokémon)

Hi Lei what's the Lifespan of fancy Goldfishes especially Thai orandas. I have a few Thai orandas and butterfly telescopes. Would like to know how many years they live happily

Hi *Joadon*, goldfish life span is just like your dog, typical around 8-10 years if you do everything right. For natural shaped body, like common, comet or Shubunkin Bristol, may last longer. You may hear of the world record oldest goldfish, which was actually a common goldfish. However back to fancy goldfish, like Ranchu and Oranda. Thai Oranda is what I called “quick fish”. They reach their maturity and develop attitude within a year. For Oranda, their life span should less 6-7 years if you do everything right.
