I stated a new caseworker job. This is my second month on the job and I'm already burned out. So many cases, so many needs, and SO MUCH paperwork. This job has discourage me from pursuing a career in social work.

Omg yes! You try to catch up but it’s like ur always playing catch up 🥲

My current caseload is about 80+ kids between three schools. I’m four months in and I’ve been experiencing burnout. 😢 I’ve been experiencing the boundary-pushing as well. I will say I understand why doctors don’t accept new patients at times - there’s little fires everywhere and only one “you.”

In my 1st year as a CM with no prior experience I had to handle 500+ cases in my 2nd year I am burned out. The contract says only 180. Then the micromanaging is taking a toll on me. Currently looking for a assistant prog mngr position

I work on the IDDT/Act model team at my agency, and it's a high level of care/ Crisis team. I currently have a caseload of 71 clients. I have been using these tips since day one, as by my third month I was starting to feel burn out, or compassion fatigue. Do you have tips and tricks for meeting the client's needs, when your company wants you to overproduce productivity hours?

Alex Artman great question- it’s always a tough balance to produce yet remain authentic with clients. I will brainstorm some idea and create a video response.

Hi, i am a newly hired Health Navigator. There are tons of paperwork that needs to be due at different dates for clients. I dn knw how Im gonna remeber what is due when for a 90 people caseload. Anything u recomend?

I know this is a bit off topic but how do you deal with negative comments about social work. I’m majoring in social work and I’m about to be a junior. I get things like “I bet you’re gonna get burnt out after some time” It has become a bit discouraging.

I think being honest - stating that it’s a possibility however, the purpose behind the reason we do social work is because we want to help others and you’re willing to take the chance if you can make a positive impact on one person, youth, child.
