I feel wearing a diaper is a must if I want to attend the ball drop on December.
Great video with a lot of useful information! I’ve attended the ball drop the last 5 years in a row minus the COVID restricted 2021 celebration and will be going this year as well. I personally advise to get there no later than 10AM to 12 noon if you want a prime spot by all the action in the bowtie area. The bowtie has been filled up completely by around 12 noon every time I’ve gone. Getting there around 2-3PM will get you a spot outside of the bowtie from between 49th & 50th to 52nd Ave or farther back. You’ll still have a view of the ball but will be outside of all the action. You’ll also have a harder time hearing the sound or won’t be able to hear it at all from there. Also keep in mind the better the weather, the more people there will be hence the areas will fill up faster.

It’s my first time going this year, where do you most like to be inside the bowtie? I feel like 7th and 47th would be the best best spot, any recommendations?

I want to go. What do you do for all those hours?

@@daineyfeelgood5235 You can’t do anything really 😂 you’re locked up in that pen the entire time until after the countdown, so a lot of people recommend bringing snacks, water (but don’t eat/drink much because there aren’t bathrooms), and a portable charger. However, if you will be using your phone to be entertained, download movies/KZread vids beforehand because all those people will clog up the cell towers

When I’m there I like to talk to and make new friends with the people who are around me in the pen. Once 6PM rolls around the show and performances start so the time goes by quickly. I also listen to music, surf the internet/KZread/Netflix. You can also bring games to play with friends as well.

@@narukarin1013 are you able to see the artists if you arrive earlier? Or is this happening on a different spot? I would like to see the performance up close if possible
Thank you for creating such an informative video. The information is very accurate since I have read about the tradition and I hope it’ll be a fun entry to 2023. 🎉❤ looking forward to the ball drop tomorrow!
Thank you so much for the video it was very helpful!👍

We hope to see you on one of our tours.
Hey @freetours, thanks for this amazing vid. We are working our way through it. Our hotel is within the perimeter, do we need to exit the perimeter to enter the square?
Is it possible to take those Portable Collapsible Telescoping Stool from Amazon?
I'm staying at a hotel on 45th st, 2 blocks away from 7th av. When it gets close to midnight, will I be able to walk to 7th av to get a view of the ball drop? Or will police most likely be blocking people from going to different blocks?

No, the police will definitely not let anyone into Times Square once the viewing areas are filled and they close it off, no exceptions. The side streets leading to 6th Ave & Broadway will all be blocked off by the NYPD as well.
Great content. So what are the best access to get into bowtie area? I stay in westin times square. 43rd st & 8 ave. Do we have to walk to 6 ave for bowtie area? Thank you
So you physically can't leave at all? Let's say i dont care about loosing my spot could i just leave?

You can definitely leave but once the area is closed off you can’t get back in. Also, it’s *losing 🙄
Parking? Alcoholic beverages beyond the check point especially if closed?
Im out at diaper or piss all over the streets... TV works fine.
Is it free to go to time square during New Year’s Eve ?

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just bring in portable bathrooms. They know it’s a huge event!
Sounds scary, I'll avoid times Square
