@@CaneMasters-WalkingCanes I most certainly will
A long time ago I Special ordered a Hickory & Heart Cane with the metal chisel tip from a hiking staff you sold at the time and it has been a real life saver (or more probably a Hip saver)in Montana Winters And it is my only winter cane. It also has a ferro stick. in the tip but I have yet to even look at it.

Thank you!
Could there be a metal ferule option with a screw in spike? I’d design it so that the rubber tip wouldn’t fit with the spike in place. It would then make a great hiking cane too. Just a thought.

Can boiled linseed oil be used in addition to mineral or instead?

Yes, either oil may be applied additionally, supplemental or exclusively, as you see fit.
I've got a four footed tip for bad weather,I find I can step on it and pull cane free if needed.

That is great!
The swing out spike tip is not fixed in place securely enough, it wiggles. You need to have a stick or two with the crown point screwed into the end to keep it solid. I have 3 or 4 of different lengths to get the job done. Nothing wrong with having a couple canes either.
For me. If it’s to bad to drive it’s to bad to walk in a wintery mess. Just saying.
