Tips for Sewing Large Piping - Ultrafeed® Sewing Machines

Sewing large cording or piping can be tricky and often requires a roping zipper foot instead of a cording foot, even if the cording foot is labeled "large". Consider this, after the vinyl fabrics are folded over the large cording it may increase the size of the assembly to almost 5/16 in thickness, usually way too thick for most cording feet made. In this video we reveal the tips required to sew your large cording (1/4 inch in this video) using the Sailrite® Ultrafeed® Sewing Machines. The techniques will result in a professional looking cording or piping application.

Well, I guess now, you will need to manufacture and sell a modified foot. Not everyone will be inclined to use a grinder for mods.

If you can dress a radius on the edge of the grinding wheel you could have a nice radius rather than an angle ground on the presser foot.

For that small size, you don’t need a (an angle) grinder. You can just use a rotary tool with a grinding stone bit.

do you know of a very sturdy long zipper that would attach to 6mil greenhouse plastic want to make end doors.
I know I would need to be cautious about needle placement but could I use a ls center foot on my lsz machine as long as I kept the needle in the center and avoid any grinding by using it in combination with the roping zipper foot ?

No, sorry the LS feet do not work on the LSZ. Nor do the LSZ feet work on the LS. Sorry
