Tips for Sealing Visual Journal Pages

Check out how I thicken my collage layers and seal my pages in my visual journal. A big thanks to this insta art community that gave me so many ideas a few years back when my pages worst stop sticking together and ripping.

THICKEN PAGES:
1. Glue collage layers over the gutter of your book or where the two pages connect to the binding.
2. Glue the next page to the back of your artwork every time to keep the pages well connected to the binding.

GLUE AND SEALING:
1. Mod podge is my favorite adhesive, because irs stucky but it also dries sticky.
2. Elmers glue is also a great adhesive. If you water it down it’s a great sealer. I still recommend wax medium on top.
3. Fixative is great for a smearable materials, but it’s not enough to take away the stickiness of mod podge.
4. Wax medium is my favorite sealer. A thin layer prevents pages from sticking together.
5. Because your collage is in a book it well protected on its own. The biggest issue is pages sticking together. Materials fall off glue them back on.
