    Hey man I have watched your videos for a long time. Before I became a flat bed hauler. I us the m18 milwaukee drill with a 5/8 Allen key to wind my straps up makes it quick and easy just use both hands on the drill. I pull B-trains and haul 160,000 pounds. Keep safe my guy and good luck!! For the strap winder on for the rail there is 2 different styles I can show you and you can get them at a TA or pilot truck stops.

    Thanks for the video. I put ratchet heads on all of my wenches. With our low step, it never fails that theres a curb or obstruction. If you own the trailer ratchet heads are well worth it. Mytee SKU ODRC-A

    I use to buy cheap ones for all my trucks but they wear out faster. Mostly because my guys were bad about using corner caps when they were supposed to. Then I found out in the contract the logistics company provided them whenever we would ask.

    Try the M12 Milwaukee screwdriver. Can get for $100 with carrying case, charger and battery. Has lots of torque and spins faster than that hammer drill was. That and will use 1/4" bit you're using. Use about every day doing electric work.

    Actually it wouldn't matter if your strap was rated for 10,000 lbs. What's the rating of your rub rail? Is it 4,000 lbs or 5,000 lbs? The weakest link is the rating you need to use.

    I leave them on but always make sure that you crank them a couple more times because they tend to come loose with The rate that you drive.... Also there's plenty more training videos on the channel

    Wow, I never knew there was so much science involved in securement straps! But honestly, I’ve been in the game for a while now and the way I break in my straps is to throw them over the load and tighten them down. I’ve never had an issue with a brand new strap experiencing fibers expanding. When you wrap the entire length of a strap around a winch it will require seem like you’re stretching the material because you can keep tightening over and over again but what’s really happening is you’re just compressing the wrap on the winch. The fibers aren’t stretching, they’re just sliding in tighter into the winch. Engineering isn’t your strong suit. Stick to day cab flatbed.

    You didn’t save anything. I buy straps by the 10 pack at Superior Trailer for $120 all day long in Oklahoma City. You must be a new driver. Always use sidecutters to remove that platic band around the new straps. Also, once those straps get wound up 3 or 4 times and they get crooked that drill won’t work. Stretching fibers? That’s the most RIDICULOUS thing I’ve ever heard. The strap IS NOT stretching! It’s simply winding up tighter on the winch. After 43 years of flatbedding I can tell that you’ve only reached kindergarten status in the trucking industry. The word salads you’ve been spewing reminds me of listening to Kamala Harris. 🤣😂😅

    👍🏿👍🏿🤣🤣 I just love how good old USA rates their products at good high standard quality but when you look at their brand name products it reads made in China🤣🤣🤣Slaves what do you call that?? an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

    Our country's trade is controlled by the government, even trade between states is controlled by government! Thank the unions for pushing our manufacturing to China by always asking for more from businesses and thank the politicians who have have a hand out for that money lobbyists are paying them plus 10% for the big guy!

    New to flatbed I apologize for dumb question but id rather ask dumb then look dumb are you taking it all the way back off the winch when you throw strap over load? Is this for storage or just to stretch fibers.??

  • @SaffordDelivery

    @SaffordDelivery

    Ай бұрын

    This is to replace the straps and to stretch the fibers because when you go to secure a load and the straps have not been broken in yet they tend to give a little more every time you tighten so this way it ensures some type of stress on them so that you aren't constantly cranking out in the field.
